Job Overview:

The Modern Trade Manager will be responsible for managing and developing the business with key modern trade retailers, including supermarkets, hypermarkets, and e-commerce platforms. The role requires strategic planning, building strong relationships, and overseeing the execution of sales and marketing strategies to drive revenue growth and enhance brand presence in the modern trade channel.

Key Responsibilities:

Channel Strategy Development:

- Develop and implement a comprehensive modern trade strategy to drive growth and market share across key retail partners.

- Identify new business opportunities and ensure the brand's presence across major modern trade channels (supermarkets, hypermarkets, online platforms).

- Develop annual sales forecasts and set clear objectives for modern trade growth.

Account Management:

- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers in major retail chains (Nature's Basket, Reliance Fresh, Amazon, etc.).

- Drive performance and accountability within retail accounts to ensure sales targets, promotional strategies, and brand objectives are met.

- Lead negotiations on trade terms, promotional agreements, and in-store visibility.

Sales & Revenue Growth:

- Ensure achievement of sales targets by effectively managing the distribution and execution of sales plans.

- Monitor retail performance and take corrective actions when necessary to achieve revenue targets.

- Track KPIs such as sales volume, revenue growth, and market penetration to assess the performance of the modern trade channel.

Product & Category Management:

- Collaborate with the marketing and product teams to align promotional strategies with product offerings, ensuring the right product mix is available at retail outlets.

- Oversee inventory and stock management in stores to ensure product availability and optimize the supply chain.

- Drive in-store execution of promotional activities, including discounts, product displays, and offers.

Market Insights & Competitor Analysis:

- Conduct regular market analysis and gather insights into consumer trends, competitor activities, and retail landscape shifts to adjust the strategy as needed.

- Monitor competitor promotions, pricing strategies, and product offerings to ensure the brand maintains a competitive edge in the market.

Promotions & Merchandising:

- Work closely with the marketing team to develop promotional calendars, in-store merchandising plans, and seasonal campaigns to boost product visibility and sales.

- Ensure proper execution of marketing campaigns, including point-of-sale materials, trade promotions, and in-store events.

Collaboration & Reporting:

- Coordinate with internal teams (marketing, logistics, supply chain) to ensure smooth execution of retail programs and seamless delivery of product offerings.

- Provide regular reports to senior management on sales performance, account status, market trends, and competitive analysis.
