Tube Products of India was established in 1955 in collaboration with Tube Products (Old Bury) Limited-UK, as a measure of backward integration with the bicycles plant. In 1959, Tube Investments of India (TII) was formed by merging TI Cycles of India and Tube Products of India.

Today, TPI is the most preferred supplier of precision tubes, Electric Resistance Welded (ERW), and Cold Drawn Welded (CDW) tubes to major automotive companies in India and abroad. TPI is India's undisputed market leader in CDW tubes for the Automotive industry. It also has significant market presence in power plants, boilers, textile machinery, general engineering, Telescopic Front Fork Inner tubes, Cylinder bore tubes for shock absorber and gas spring applications, Propeller shaft tubes for the Automotive segment. Other specialty products include Rear Axle Tubes, Side Impact Beams, Tie Rods, Drag links, Heavy thick steering shafts, and Hydraulic Cylinder tubes.

TPI has integrated manufacturing facilities in Chennai (two tube and one strip plant at Avadi), Shirwal, and Mohali. These plants conform to international standards and achieve operational excellence through TPM. The Thirthani plant manufactures large diameter, high wall cold-drawn, and welded tubes. TPI has distribution centers across India, ensuring timely service to the customers' daily requirements.

Position: Senior Manager / AGM - Process Engineering and Process Development

Education: B.Tech/M.Tech in Metallurgy / Mechanical Engineering

Experience: 15+ Years

Location: Chennai

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

- Introduce new technology and machinery, adjust process parameters to meet the required standards of quality, cost, and productivity for existing and new products. This is based on market surveys, customer interaction, technological trends, and developments. Establish robust process optimization, including heat treatment, metallurgical failure analysis, cycle time reduction, benchmarking, and failure investigation to contribute to business growth.

- Coordinate resolution of customer, field, and warranty complaints through failure analysis process improvement and PPM reduction by implementing corrective and preventive actions.

- Understand the heat treatment process and suggest improvements to optimize end product requirements.

- Conduct in-process defect analysis, including mechanical and metallurgical studies, and recommend corrective and preventive measures.

Lead, manage, and guide process development for new products by:

- Process design for new enquiry

- Contract review with customers

- Process design for value engineering requirement of customer and validation in internal processes.

- Interaction with R&D for functionnal test and specific test requirements

- Constant interaction withh customer to update technology process improvement to meet customer requirements.
