Treasury Economist and Financial Market Strategist

Grade: Manager / Senior Manager

Required Experience: 2-5 years

Location: Mumbai

Position reporting to: Corporate Treasurer

Our client is a fortune 500 company working in diversified sectors. It is one amongst the largest conglomerates that provides its associates with opportunities to learn and grow with them whilst supporting them in their career progression.

Deliverables expected:

- Build a database, track and maintain a repository of India’s macroeconomic variables (GDP, Inflation, IIP, Fiscal, BoP, etc)

- Track important events across Global Financial Markets and prepare internal reports for senior management apprising them immediately of the important events and their potential impact

- Build the database and track important Financial Market variables – domestic and global (OMO, govt bond auction cut-off prices, yield curves, spreads, QE quantum, etc)

- Prepare periodic and thematic research reports targeted towards Dealing Room transactors and Senior Management (Treasurer, CFO, Joint CFO, Business Heads)

- Recommend hedging strategies based on in-house views and analysis of short and medium term moves in FX and Interest rates markets

- Interacting with Business Units and their treasuries

Qualifications & Skills expected:

- Masters in Economics from a reputed university

- Good academic track record

- Good communication skill – both written and oral

- Good analytical thinking and quantitative aptitude

- Well networked and connected to the street

- Conversant with various computer applications

- Able to work under pressure

- Able to work in a team
