Job description

As a Channel Activation Manager, your primary responsibility will be to develop and execute strategies to drive channel growth, customer loyalty and enhance brand visibility in Modern Trade and Self Select stores. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and trade marketing, to ensure effective channel activation and the achievement of business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Channel Strategy Development: Develop comprehensive channel strategies aligned with overall business objectives, considering market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape

- Brand Campaign Planning and Execution: Plan and execute brand activation campaigns, including experiential marketing events, product launches, sponsorships and promotional activities

- Channel Activation Planning: Design and implement channel activation plans that encompass trade promotions, point-of-sale (POS) materials, Primary and secondary merchandising in Self Select and Modern Trade stores and other relevant initiatives to drive sales and brand presence.

- Loyalty program design: Design and implement channel loyalty plans to drive store loyalty and share growth in the SSO channel. Design and implement initiatives to augment consumer loyalty in Modern Trade stores

- Performance Analysis: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of brand and channel activation initiatives through data analysis, consumer feedback, and market research.

- Identify opportunities for improvement and implement strategies to optimize campaign performance

- Collaborative Engagement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as sales teams, trade marketing, and brand managers to align on channel strategies, provide guidance, and drive execution excellence

- Market Research and Analysis: Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and consumer insights to identify new opportunities, understand consumer behavior, and develop targeted channel activation plans

- Trade Promotion Management: Develop and manage trade promotion programs to maximize sales, increase market share, and optimize promotional spend, while ensuring alignment with brand strategies and customer requirements

- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key channel partners, distributors, retailers, sales team, merchandising team and other stakeholders to drive collaboration and foster mutually beneficial business partnerships

- Merchandising team management: Build and maintain merchandising team across MT and Self Select stores to ensure visibility as per defined norms at all times across all stores

- Budget Management: Develop and manage the channel activation budget effectively, ensuring optimal utilization of resources and ROI

Desired Candidate Profile

- Masters degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field

- Proven experience of 6+ years in channel activation, trade marketing, brand marketing or related roles within the FMCG industry

- Strong understanding of FMCG market dynamics, consumer behavior, and channel strategies

- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights

- Effective communication and presentation skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders

- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and deliver results within tight deadlines

- Knowledge of FMCG channels (e.g., MT, General Trade Retail, eCommerce, Wholesale) and distribution networks is highly desirable
