TL/AM - Equity FOBO P&L Recon (Product Control)

- The Middle Office seeks to provide first-class support service to its various internal clients with a particular focus on the relationship between trading risk positions and P&L components.
We are looking to recruit an individual to work in the Equity P&L production area. This local team will support the trading business globally in Asia, EMEA and the US.
- The primary internal clients will be Middle Office P&L and Front Office, however there will also be considerable interaction with Operations, Finance, Risk and the other MO functions.
- The primary responsibility is to deliver accurate and timely front to back P&L reconciliations and related control work.
Primary products covered will include: Fixed Income, Derivatives (Swaps & Futures) and FX (Spot, Fwd, NDF)
- Perform Front to Back Reconciliation between trading system and subledger for Rates & Currencies trading performed Globally
- Ensure transactions flow to the Subledger accurately and in a timely manner
- Work closely with teams in Front/Middle/Back office to evaluate risks and resolve downstream failure of transactions
- Support the Trading Desk with any questions related to P&L
- Provide daily and weekly reporting on P&L activities to internal clients
- Work proactively to create more effective Reconciliation Systems and enhance processes for improved efficiency and control
- Manage ad-hoc projects and liaise with internal counterparts in different regions
MBA/CA/CFA
Must Have Skills :
- Candidate must have 3-6 years of Experience in Markets with at least 36 Months in PnL/Product Control
- Candidate should have a keen interest in Equity, FX, Rates, Fixed Income product set with a good understanding of the products used (see above) and their pricing
- Good working understanding of Excel is a must; ability to troubleshoot spreadsheet issues is also critical
- The right individual will have strong people skills and can multi-task to manage the challenges of Middle Office processes yet have the awareness to escalate potential issues to their supervisor in a timely manner
- Candidate must have a proven track record of communicating effectively with personnel from various areas within an organization and at different management levels
- Must be proactive and be a highly-motivated self-starter. Reactive and/or passive individuals need not apply
Good to Have Skills :
- Advanced education and/or enhanced technical qualifications are a plus
- It would be advantageous if the individual has prior experience on shoring Finance, Middle Office or Operational workflow and implementing procedures and controls
- Ability to use Access or VBA would enhance the candidate's attractiveness significantly
