TinyOwl - Data Scientist

TinyOwl is a Mumbai-based company founded in 2014 by IIT Bombay Alumni. We are a team of designers, developers and strategists backed by some of the biggest VCs in the world. Our mission is to connect people with their food. We have started off by developing a smart and simple food ordering application.

Job Requirements:

- TinyOwl is looking for experienced Data scientist based in Mumbai office.

- Data scientist will use data to support strategic & tactical decision making for leadership teams.

- Data scientist will participate in architecting, building & advancing company's ability to analyze data effectively.

- As newly created position, the role of Data scientist will evolve with the changing needs of the company.

- With initial emphasis on ETL, visualization, this role is expected to become increasingly strategic to include insights from social, consumer & transaction data, yielding more effective and real-time predictive & prescriptive analytics in future.

Skill Required:

- Proficient programmer with advanced querying skills and experience with Large data-sets

- Proficiency with common languages used in statistical analysis such as R, SAS, Perl, Python

- Experience with statistics, model building and algorithm construction

- Experience with Amazon web services, Hadoop, MongoDB is plus

- Mentorship skill-set

- Comfort with dynamic data visualizations (d3.js etc)

- Documentation skills for designing technical documents
