Times Group - Sr Manager - Sales

The Times Group is looking for the candidates who would be responsible for achieving regional sales target by scouting and executing printing jobs using in-house capacity

The principal Accountabilities of the role are:

- Scan market on ongoing basis for awareness on various types of printing jobs which are done so as to be able to shortlist opportunities of offering capacity.

- Understand technical capability and capacity availability and use the same to develop an opportunity capability grid with technical people on a periodical basis.

- Understand regulatory environment with reference to printing outside jobs and build the same into strategy, cost and action plan.

- Work with Finance and technical to regular basis to understand the cost printing with DVC and without DVC. Also, keep updated cost paid to OSP partners and cost paid by other companies for outside printing jobs to be able to finalize a optimal deal which can be offered to potential customers.

- Interact with potential customers and be a part of the contract building team as well as negotiation team.

- Influence internal management with proper strategy and sound logic on various business proposals.

- Lead and motivate team inclusive of sales, commercial, and technical resources

- Ensure quality and delivery to customers

- Ensure timely billing and recoveries from customers

- Liase with Production to ensure Publishing business is not impacted adversely

- Follow approval process to ensure all internal stakeholder’s buy-in for every job

- Provide MIS and regular report to management on progress of the region.

Candidate profile:

Experience:

- Senior Sales manager from Commercial printing background – e.g. Thomson Printers / IPP / Kalajyothi etc. would be preferred

- Total work experience of 5-7 years, with a minimum of 3 years in managerial role leading teams

Education:

- Engineer and MBA from reputed institutes

- Understanding of basic printing processes, types of printing, paper types and sizes, and capabilities of various types of printing presses and ancillaries

- Understanding of costing for printed products, including binding, finishing, packing, etc.

- Understanding of taxation, freight, levies, and statutory laws

- Understanding of printing market and various options available within the same.
