Lead Strategy - Market Insights & Strategy Implementation

Position Summary & Scope

The Lead - Market Insights & Strategy Implementation is an integral part of the CEO's office, responsible for providing critical research & advisory support for key business decisions and leading program management for strategic initiatives built around digital transformation, innovation & new revenue streams. The role holder is expected to bring on-board market intelligence related to media and technology trends and serve as the custodian for insights that drive informed decision-making. She/he will also lead the program management efforts and support in driving change management agenda to drive adoption of new age practices within BCCL.

Areas of Responsibility (Key Result Areas) Strategic Advisory:

- Engage with VP - New Strategic Initiatives for open-minded exploration of ideas, brainstorming on innovative business models and discussing unconventional and bold suggestions.

- Be an enthusiast and challenge assumptions constructively & ask probing questions to elicit insightful perspectives.

- Serve as a trusted advisor to VP - New Strategic Initiatives, translating all relevant business data into clear, concise, and objective insights that drive strategic decision-making.

- Create high quality and impactful presentations for various reviews with CEO, Leadership Teams, employee town halls and other meetings.

- Collaborate with various functions & stakeholders to gather and synthesize information for executive decision-making. Market Intelligence on Media & Technology Trends

- Be the internal custodian of market intelligence on media and technology trends, including - Big Tech partnerships with news publishers, use of GenAI in media companies, and emergent revenue streams for news media companies. Big Tech Partnerships with News Publishers:

- Monitor and analyze trends related to partnerships between big technology companies (e.g., Google, Facebook, Apple) and news publishers. Track developments happening in the industry such as content distribution agreements, advertising partnerships, and platform integrations.

- Evaluate the impact of big tech partnerships on the media industry, including changes in distribution channels, audience reach, and revenue models. Assess the implications for traditional news publishers, digital media startups, and content creators.

- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior leadership based on market analysis and industry trends. Identify opportunities for collaboration, differentiation, or diversification of the BCCL business portfolio in response to evolving partnerships and competitive dynamics. Use of GenAI in Media Companies:

- Explore the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, including Generative AI, within media companies. Investigate applications such as content creation, personalization, recommendation engines, and audience analytics.

- Research case studies and best practices of media organizations leveraging GenAI to improve operational efficiency, upscale productivity, enhance content relevance, and optimize audience engagement. Identify success stories and lessons learned from early adopters. Emergent Revenue Streams for News Media Companies:

- Actively participate and provide all relevant support for special/new projects that are aimed to generate incremental business for BCCL.

- Identify what can be potential emergent revenue streams and business models for news media

Job Description:

- Evaluate market trends and consumer behavior patterns driving the emergence of new revenue streams in the media industry. Analyze successful examples and case studies of media companies monetizing non-traditional assets and services.

- Facilitate brainstorming sessions and workshops to generate innovative ideas for revenue diversification and experimentation. Program Management on Innovation, Digital Transformation & Revenue Diversification Initiatives

- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies for all Transformation initiatives. Coordinate with cross-functional teams and oversee project execution to ensure timely delivery and alignment with business goals.

- Engage with internal stakeholders, including business leaders, functional teams, and senior executives, to gain buy-in and drive on-ground implementation. Communicate project updates, share learnings, and celebrate successes to foster a culture of innovation and collaboration.

- Provide relevant support from the CEO's office for change management efforts to drive adoption of digital technologies and practices across the organization.

- Embrace a culture of learning and adaptation, where failures are viewed as opportunities for growth and continuous improvement.

- Establish structured mechanisms for capturing and sharing lessons learned from innovation projects to inform future initiatives and foster organizational learning. Operational Support

- Plan and coordinate leadership meetings & strategy huddles from time to time, ensuring all arrangements are seamless and efficient.

- Attend Business Review meetings alongside VP - New Strategic Initiatives, capturing key discussions, decisions, and action items.

- Prepare and distribute accurate and timely Minutes of Meetings (MoMs) to relevant stakeholders.

- Follow up on action items and ensure deadlines are met with quality output as per expectations.

- Organize and maintain confidential files and documents, ensuring easy access.

- Assist the VP - New Strategic Initiatives with all relevant external communication toolkits like media releases, articles, presentations etc.
