Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing and Reviewing tax work papers that calculate partnership taxable income, with interaction with Investran and proprietary tax software.
- Gather and analyze financial information from underlying portfolio companies. Calculate partnership tax withholdings (ECI, FDAP & states).
- Track partnership/partner tax basis
- Assist with the preparation and review of quarterly estimates
- Provide support on miscellaneous projects and ad-hoc requests
- Populate reconciliation files built by the tax team with the results from the new application, validate and produce exception reports
- Learn and understand the fundamentals of the application functionality and the respective underlying business logic
- Analyze and document issues in issue tracker and help debug issues found by users or support team
- Escalate issues to 2nd level reviewers and assist with analysis
- Interface with tax and fund accounting team in US
- Assist in running events in the application and reconcile and document the results
- Work with interfacing systems- managers to maintain/enhance interfaces
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Candidate must be a Post Graduate with good knowledge of accounting and business analysis skills. Tax knowledge a plus.
- Candidates must have 5-8 years of relevant experience in US Partnership Tax
- Candidates with experience in Private Equity business, accounting, or tax experience are preferred
- Strong analytical, problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills, multi-task and deliver under tight deadlines; The candidate is a self-starter that thrives on complexity and solution finding
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Word); The candidate is expected to have experience building and working with large data validation files (Pivots, V-Lookups)
- The profile involves effective communication across Clients- facilities globally and hence possessing excellent interpersonal and communication skills in verbal and written English is a must
- A demonstrated ability to write effectively and summarize large amounts of information succinctly and quickly
- A desire to work in an international team environment, often under pressure and with multiple stakeholders
