Position : Content Specialist - Knowledge Manager 3

Job description:
Purpose - To provide expertise, skills and specific knowledge in the Fixed Income Corporate Actions content. Provide specialty in at least one major region (Americas, EMEA, Asia) ensuring that efficiencies and new strategies are proposed and implemented to keep Thomson Reuters at the front of the industry.
Scope and Impact - May be global or regional role depending on the content expertise and also on whether or not Content Ownership is applicable. Complex role in that it could not be done by someone without a reasonable knowledge of Fixed Income Corporate Actions content and the Fixed Income feeds. No direct financial scope but decisions on testing, for example, must take account of financial implications, both short and longer term. Accountable for the quality and quantity of own and unit's output through use of expertise and application of knowledge. Expected to strategically influence and guide the area of specialty.
Essential Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Conduct research on Generic, Content Market Place and ISO 15022 specific requirements on Fixed Income Corporate Actions and be a subject matter expert to support client requests and front line teams.
Understand the Fixed Income content, the fields and the feeds.
Knowledge of vendor data-feeds used for Fixed Income North America and Eurobonds Terms & Conditions data. Experience in assisting defining feed-mapping requirements and testing will be required.
Take the lead on resolving Client issues including Pre & Post-Sales activities that involve assessing field-comparison or data coverage comparisons with competitors in a timely manner. Provide a summary of findings/recommendations as needed.
Own client escalations and communication to impacted groups.
Maintain up to date data set expertise and work to develop further data and technical knowledge.
Create and Test user acceptance test cases on enhancement projects.
Document research findings and testing results on global or regional basis.
Communicate with Content Specialist / Project manager and respective stakeholders on the progress of assigned projects.
Represent the data groups in projects or discussions that significantly affect how data is stored, maintained and/or organized and provide expert-level contribution to these discussions.
Work with various product groups to understand needs for Corporate Actions and suggest alternatives / improvements.
Prepare and present formal reports of recommendations, including establishing agreement, implementation, monitoring and testing.
Establish collaborative relationships with wider audience coordinate discussions with and provide direction for marketing, customers, suppliers, consultants and technical staff in determining requirements for enhancements, cleanse activities, studies and project initiatives.
Translate external market policies, rules, change in regulations and events into internal Thomson Reuters technical and operational requirements, maintaining a current awareness of the marketplace.
SKILLS DEVELOPMENT
Work with training manager to contribute to training aimed at building, maintaining and enhancing specialist skills Ensuring effective communication, within Corporate Actions content team, of information relevant to own area of responsibility regarding changes, developments, news. Provide help and advice to Corporate Actions management team on area of special expertise. Design and conduct training modules for analysts.
Mentor and develop Analysts and Senior Analysts within the team.
PLANNING AND CONTROL
Work with managers and other staff to ensure procedures & policies and standards are adhered to.
Ensure documentation on work flows and practices is up-to-date and consistent.
Ensure findings in project testing and other research projects are shared with stake holders real time.
Negotiate resources to ensure projects and activities completed to specification.
Identify new and different work requirements.
Manage implementation of organizational procedures seeing tasks through to completion.
Ensure that client requirements are taken account of and help others achieve desired results to meet these requirements.
Create new data quality checks and perform value -added analysis across groups to improve efficiencies.
COMMUNICATION
Communicate effectively with other Thomson Reuters personnel and external agencies to enhance the quality and quantity of data.
Represent Corporate Actions content to internal and external parties.
Give technical presentations on area of expertise.
Contribute to and participate in global Data Operations projects
Keep manager aware of issues, both positive and negative.
Ensure awareness of customer views on data and recommend improvements / escalate problems as needed
Participate in global projects outside Content as a representative. Advice and help on area of expertise
Document local and global procedures
Selected candidate will be required to work varying shifts based on requirements and will be primarily working flexi shifts.
Education Qualification: Graduate in any discipline. Post Graduation preferred, but not mandatory. Financial certifications preferred, but not mandatory.
Required Skills :
Minimum 5 years of work experience in the Fixed Income content.
Excellent communication skills.
- Must have good knowledge of Fixed Income Corporate Action events and ISO 15022.
- Good Knowledge of Requirements writing.
- Knowledge of interaction and managing relationships with key Fixed Income clients and stakeholders (Product Specialists, Client Specialists, Product Management, Content Management etc.).
- Demonstrated knowledge on process and domain
- Good Knowledge of Fixed Income Reference
- Good Knowledge of SQL and other technical skills such as Macros, Web grabbing tools and any other extraction tools.
