Position Summary
Part of the Life Sciences Solution Group - South Asia leadership team, Marketing Manager is responsible for the development, implementation and execution of strategic and tactical marketing plans for all of our LSG divisions based in South Asia (including local support for product marketing, digital marketing, advertising plans, trade show participation, direct customer and distributor communication, marketing collateral, etc.). The divisions included are Biosciences, Genetic Sciences, Clinical Sciences and Bio Production.
The role works closely with the commercial leaders in the country & collaborates with the global marketing teams to design strategy for the marketing team and will be responsible to provide leadership and direction to the commercial marketing team.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and direct commercial marketing team (team size of 7 to 10 seasoned marketing professionals) to create sales and marketing campaigns to grow market share and achieve planned sales and margin for assigned products
- Work closely with the Commercial leaders to understand needs & market dynamics to help drive market-oriented plans
- Strong collaboration with Global Market Development teammates, ensuring strategic alignment across product and target market segments, championing a unified message and position to internal and external customers
- Independently conceive and drive digital marketing campaigns
- Drive lead generation programs that result in sales and long-term customer satisfaction. Measure and report on market effectiveness
- Work closely with the strategic product managers by providing feedback and driving market-oriented events
- Drive the development of the yearly forecast and marketing plan for the region
- Obtain market data on sales, the competitive, landscape, pricing & provide input for and present business reviews to help drive commercial value in the region
- Measure success of marketing programs executed
- Responsible for the marketing budget allocated to the region
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree mandatory (Bio-tech qualification preferred) MBA desirable
- 15+ years- work experience with solid analytic/scientific technology and market knowledge.
- Demonstrated results driving targeted campaign initiatives utilizing web, search, social media, and advertising and events channels. Knowledge and prior experience of digital marketing tools and technologies is a must
- Develops and maintains a high level of product knowledge of Thermo Fisher Scientific and competitor products
- Demonstrates deep understanding of customers- business and benefit orientated marketing techniques that result in win-win solutions
- Must be a motivated, enthusiastic self-starter able to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
- Willing to undertake travel domestically and internationally as business requires
- Knowledge of finance, accounting and budgeting practices to effectively manage fiscal responsibilities
- Ability to guide, oversee or coordinate the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to effectively interact with all levels of Thermo Fisher employees, as well as outside contacts
- Ability to lead and provide functional area guidance and expertise to the team.
- Provide routine updates through verbal and written communication of successes, failures, best practices, etc. to improve the overall operating efficiency of the team.
