- 6-8 years – Teradata tools and utility

- 4+ years – Advanced SQL Coding / Tuning / Optimization

- 2+ years – Understanding and designing of Data Models

- 2+ years – Leading Data warehouse application team

Mandatory Technical Skills -

- Very strong SQL skills

- Teradata database: Expertise in Teradata architecture and database concepts

- Tool and Utilities: Expertise in Bteq / Fastload / Multiload / TPump / Fastexport implementation

- Expert design / coding skills, testing methodologies and techniques as it relates to data warehouse application

- Exposure to Data Modeling techniques and tools

Mandatory Managerial Skills -

- Very good communication, interpersonal and lead skills

- Working knowledge of the software implementation lifecycle and the ability to work well with developers and architects

Mandatory Functional Skills -

- Expert problem solving and analytical skills

- Translating business needs into data requirements

Primary Role - Teradata Lead will provide technical and best practices guidance across various project initiatives in Teradata data warehouse area.

- Typically, this role provides Teradata technical expertise in both projects and day to day support of Enterprise Data Warehousing, Data Marts and other high-profile database related initiatives.

- As a result, this role requires a solid understanding of RDMS, Teradata database Technical and Data Warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT, and general ‘Best Practices’ as related to Teradata standards.

Job -

- Lead the design, implementation and support of Teradata Data Warehousing applications

- Make recommendations to solve complex data problems in a flexible, fast paced and rapidly changing environment

- Effectively interact with peers, stakeholders, end users and technical partners.

- Effectively monitor and take action to ensure coordination and effectiveness of all data activities and decide on issues requiring escalation.

- Coordinate with all relevant stakeholders to plan the process and timelines for deployment of data structure to production and also lead the creation of relevant back-up / rollback plans

- Facilitate the quality control activities by providing guidance particularly for defects encountered owing to data issues

- Define standards for Teradata technical practices in conjunction with identified internal and external stakeholders
