Role :Head of Tecnology

Experience- 8-15 Yrs

1. Overall architecture - ensure coherence of system with pragmatism; make key HLD choices (languages, datastores, division of responsibilities between components).

2. Individual contribution - personally contributes on design, code-reviews and code.

3. Project management - can coordinate a team to get things delivered on time.

4. Leadership - leads hiring and building the eng team, participant in all business decisions.

Must-haves

1. Strong bias to action - High energy, gets things done and shipped. No analysis-paralysis.

2. Design thinking - strong system design skills, biased towards doing the right longer-term path, but can make pragmatic tradeoffs.

3. B2C experience - has built atleast one b2c application with decent scale.

4. Software engineering - infuses good coding practices, and project execution methods

5. Non-heirarchichal leadership - Works by influence and earns respect, good coach and can provide constructive feedback.

Nice-to-haves

1. Has been an entrepreneur or worked in smaller startup.

2. Has worked and managed consultants.

3. Ecommerce domain experience.

Must-avoid

1. People who are cannot hands-on code - may not have to long-term, but easily can.

2. Hierarchical mindset of working with people.
