Job Title Technology Architect - Digital Transformation

Main Role (Overall Accountability) :

- Reporting to the Head - Digital transformation, the Technology-Architect post holder will ensure close working relationship with bank's chief Enterprise architect and other technical managers/leads in the group. The role holder should assist/consult to make the architectural design choices and implementation of the solution adhering to bank's architecture, compliance and security practices. The role holder is responsible for managing all architectural activities and deliverables including enterprise architecture documents for all the applications in the bank.

- Responsible for the design and interpretation of technical architecture artefacts taken from the product specifications or in direct discussions with the solution provider to create solution architecture aligning with bank's enterprise architecture.

- Act as first level authority and provide an assurance role, ensuring that all architecture activities and deliverables (including enterprise architecture document) are produced to a high quality and are consistent with banks standards, policies and strategies.

- Closely work with Chief Enterprise architect to identify and source new technologies to support new Business enhancement and development activities.

- Responsible for giving timely consultation for all technical managers and project managers to adhere to enterprise architecture standards and necessary documentations.

Principal Accountabilities :

The Technology-Architect's principal accountabilities include the following:

- Ensuring best practices are followed in system design for IT Applications and Technology Infrastructure,

- In coordination with IT Infrastructure, IT Security, Applications development & PMO teams, map out the current IT systems and technologies in terms of how the support the business, identify what issues/compromises we have today an recommend improvements wherever necessary

- Ensure all the applications/systems enterprise architecture documents quality is as per the bank's standards. Provide necessary assistance and support for the technical manager/leads to deliver high quality architecture documents.

- Understand and document the drivers for change - business processes, its need plus IT strategies to support business

- Determine the gaps/risks in continuing with current Architecture and advantages of new Target Architecture - make the case for change to the new Target Architecture wherever required.

- Identify the issues and determine technical strategies o facilitate delivery of the Target Architecture


- Determine the gaps/risks and communicate how the proposed technology solutions can leverage from existing systems and infrastructure in terms of economies of scale, reduction and management of risk, sharing of information and processes.

- Actively engage with Chief Enterprise architect and IT management to endorse the proposed Architectural changes

- Suggest solutions and strategies for technical solutions based on the analysis of organization's business goals, objectives, needs and existing application systems and infrastructure

- Act as the IT technical advisor on the use of existing systems and technologies to Digital transformation group

- Undertake research to seek, identify and source technologies to support new Business enhancement and development activities

- To be actively aware of current & emerging business strategy and to ensure that all activities undertaken in this area are linked directly to and driven by Business strategies across the Bank

- Provide thought leadership across of the most appropriate use of current and emerging technologies and management practices to ensure the achievement of the Bank's commercial and strategic goals

- Must act as a bridge between a given project and how that project fits into the broader Architectural context

- Must be able to bring to the enterprise the value in integration of solutions of the particular project with the knowledge of business domain, information models, enterprise concerns, industry standards, established patterns, and best practices

Personnel Specifications :

- Must be a graduate in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent IT disciplines, with 10-15 years of technical enterprise architect/writing experience in the IT Infrastructure/IT Security/Applications Development & Support. Of this, at least 10-12 years- experience should be in defining the scope for major applications initiatives across financial services, with particular emphasis on retail, commercial and wholesale banking.

- Master's Degree is a plus

- Certifications in Open Architecture Framework (i.e.) TOGAF is a must have

- Project Management Certification (PMP) is a plus

- Certifications in Cyber security/ IT Security / Risk - CISM, CRISC, CGEIT, CISSP etc. is a plus

- Must have good knowledge of Standards such as ISO 27001, ISO 27005, PCI-DSS, CoBIT etc.

- A strong understanding of Technology Architecture principles, particularly the scoping and implementation of new applications for state of art technology platforms

- Very strong in technical writing and showcased demonstrable experience in writing enterprise architecture documents.

- Proven capacity to understand and work with banking Business requirements an processes

- Proven capacity to deliver improvements within a matrix style organisation

- Active participation in senior Committees as an IT technical specialist

- Demonstrate high levels of independence in terms of the selection of technology, applications and systems to ensure the selection of the optimum technology to support the define Business requirements

- Professional certifications in Technology Architecture, Technology Governance, Project Management and Information Security

- Membership in Professional bodies or associations

- Strong communication skills and ability to speak the language of technical people and then switch to the language of business people. Ability to explain complex issues to inexperienced people

- Demonstrate advanced and specialist technical knowledge in Applications development and scoping exercises

- Advanced knowledge of existing and emerging technologies used in banking and other relevant consumer businesses

- Ability to establish rapport and drive consensus and change at all levels of the organization

- Identify the needs of the business - regular liaison with Business Unit managers, at Senior and Operational levels

- Collaborate with and influence seniors, peers and operational staff to achieve improved business outcomes

- Demonstrate a positive, practical and outcomes focussed approach to problem solving activities

- Demonstrate influencing, facilitation and negotiation skills - at senior management and operational levels

- Demonstrate effective management skills, from scoping to implementation and review

- Provide corporate reporting information

- Actively maintain an advanced and up-to-date knowledge of developments in banking thinking, strategy, systems, and approaches - including correspondence, study and/or networks

- Work with specialist and outsourced services

- Provide thought leadership on new trends across Technology, Business & Operations and the Senior Business team members

- Good communication and presentation skills with good command of spoken and written English

- Good interpersonal relations with pleasing personality
