Job Description -
The incumbent will be responsible for delivering the overall Sales targets and implementation of business strategy sustaining volume growth as well as increasing the numeric and weighted distribution within the prescribed sales policies. The incumbent shall equally lead, direct and develop sales team to deliver grow and manage talent.
Job Responsibilities:
Business Management
- Create and develop programs for achievement of company sales Targets.
- Ensure the successful achievement of the company's sales goals across all the regions and as per brand and channel mix
- Track & report market insights and identify trends (competitor products/ price/ distribution/ promotions)
New product Development
- Improve competitiveness of the company by developing new products that not only appeals to the market but meets customer requirement as well.
- Continuously identify customer needs and develop products that fulfill those needs in consultation with both production and quality teams.
- Drive innovation among team members to ensure that customer needs are well understood and product improvements are offered to meet such needs.
- Support customers in undertaking new product development ensuring that agreed timelines are well executed and adhered to in order to facilitate product launch.
Customer Relationship Management
- Be an ambassador for the company and its brands by being a role model for living our values.
- Nurture and build positive relationships with all key Customers and business stakeholders
GTM Execution
- Monitor achievement of daily and MTD objectives as per the targets set
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of BI, sales and GTM reports
Operational Excellence
- Ensure timely and accurate forecasting and planning of sales, aligned to customer and category targets.
- Liaise and review plans with other functions (i.e. Production and Supply Chain)
- Resolve problems and give directions while ensuring strict governance and system improvements to implementing change.
Team Management
- Manage, coach and develop a high performing Sales team that meets agreed objectives and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements.
- Set department objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports.
- Report on achievement of targets and identify any actions required.
- Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behavior expected of them.
- Ensure the delivery of the People Strategy within area of accountability
- Manage and lead the team, ensuring adequate staffing levels.
- Monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance and record on appropriate systems.
- Communicate KPIs from the strategic annual plan so that each employee is aware
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or any other Engineering field
- Bachelor's in any business-related field and / or MBA is an added advantage
- 8+ years' of experience in sales
- Previous experience in Rigid Plastic Manufacturing is an added advantage
- High Customer Orientation
- Multi-channel Sales experience required
- Highly organized, detail oriented, self-motivated and able to meet specific deadlines.
- B2B experience is a requirement
- In depth understanding of the Kenyan market and consumer demand fluctuations
