Technical Manager - Accounting

Responsibilities

Technical Accounting:

- Manage the technical accounting processes for equity, debt, deferred compensation, bonus, vacation, and other compensation areas.

- Prepare and review journal entries and reconciliations to support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing.

- Create Technical accounitng memos and support GAAP compliance for extra audinory events.

Compliance & Standards:

- Ensure that all accounting treatments adhere to relevant standards (US GAAP) and internal controls.

- Evaluate the impact of new accounting standards and regulations on compensation transactions and implement necessary adjustments.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

- Work closely with other departments to ensure exchange of info required for compliance with A'c standandrds is seamless.

Audit & Process Improvement:

- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.

- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in technical accounting practices.

Qualifications

- Professional certification (CPA, CA) is preferred.

- Minimum of 8+ years of technical accounting experience, specifically handling equity, debt, deferred compensation, bonus, vacation, and other compensation elements.

- In-depth knowledge of accounting standards (US GAAP or IFRS) as they apply to complex compensation arrangements.

- Proven experience in preparing and reviewing technical journal entries and financial reconciliations.

- Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.

- Preferred experience in the IT/software industry or a Big Four accounting environment.

- Proficiency in financial systems (such as NetSuite, Workday, or similar) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
