TCS - Data Scientist/Analyst

Desired Competencies (Technical/Behavioral Competency) :

- Strong understanding of structured and unstructured ML/ Data Mining models essential

- Hands-on experience in ML/Statistical techniques essential

- Statistical/ML tools: R or Weka or MLLib competency essential

- Hands on experience in handling large data sets strongly preferred

- Familiarity with Hadoop, Hive or other large-scale distributed computing environments preferable

- Previous experience in web mining or text mining preferable

- Ability and experience dealing with very granular data preferably from a Hadoop data storage platform

Responsibility of / Expectations from the Role :

- Data Analysis, extract actionable insights from large volumes of structured and unstructured data, build analytic procedures

- Develop the statistical models. These modules would take care of data pre-processing, evaluating on various ML models and finally selecting the appropriate model
