About our Client - My client is a market leading FMCG business, headquartered in Gurgaon. With Global revenues of more than USD 10bn they own some of the worlds most recognizable brands. They are currently looking for a Tax Manager to work between the Company and the J.V. partner to be responsible for all tax matters relating to a fast paced, rapidly growing International business.

Job Description - Reporting to the India CFO and Zone Tax Director, you will be responsible for all aspects of Tax in a Pan India basis. Your responsibilities will include:

- Indirect Taxation Ensure compliance with requirements of Indirect Tax Laws.

- Ensure the VAT, Service Tax and Excise returns are filed on time

- Keep track of changes in Indirect Tax laws particularly VAT in various states and keep updated on the same

- Provide the tax planning & tax optimization strategies for different states.

- Ensure optimize legal structure is set-up to minimize direct and indirect tax burden and maximize strategic flexibility

- Responsibility of import/export duties between states in India and from abroad.

- Direct Taxation:

- Computation of Advance tax, monthly provision of Income Tax and Wealth Tax (annual)

- Define and translate tax policies & guidelines including transfer price policies

- Ensure optimize legal structure is set-up to minimize direct and indirect tax burden and maximize strategic flexibility

- Manage relationship with tax authority and help to settle the arguments and to acquire tax incentives.

- Examine adjustment of important tax issues in declaration of corporate income tax .

- Estimate BU and LE for all tax categories Review existing processes and documents for tax compliance and suggest the improvements

- Assessment Proceedings:

- Attending assessment proceedings at AO and TPO level including compilation the required details for Income Tax and maintenance of Transfer Pricing documentation as per Income tax Act.

- Attend Tax assessment hearings and appeals hearing before Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeal) and Tribunal.

- Liaise with tax consultants for preparation of assessment and appeal.

The Successful Candidate - Your will be CA Qualified with 6-8 years of experience. You must be well versed in VAT, Customs and Excise and Export tax matters PAN India and be capable of communicating with senior stakeholders both internally and externally. Experience in the Alcohol/Beverages industry would be a plus.
