Job Responsibilities:
- Part of the Plant IR leadership team.
- Lead the Industrial Relations, Welfare and Community Services function of Tata Motors, Jamshedpur.
- Extensive knowledge on developmental initiatives for blue collared employees : Leading, driving and establishing these developmental programs
- Knowledge of industrial engineering, productivity systems, work systems, Kaizen, self-directed teams,quality circle etc.
- The candidate must be aware of global practices for blue collared skill development, progression and evolution
- Anticipate, strategise, plan and review major Industrial Relations and Welfare activities at the Plant Level.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining a harmonious and productive Industrial Relations climate at Jamshedpur Plant through effective employee communication, Joint Forums, employee involvement/empowerment through initiatives like SDT’s
- Develop a mature internal Union leadership through planned training & development inputs.
- Finalise long term settlements revising the compensation and conditions of service for all workmen at Jamshedpur Plant through effective Union negotiation.
- Effective deployment of welfare measures like canteen, creche, etc.
- Ensure use of PPE’s and other safety measures by employees in the plant.
- Ensure statutory compliance on various provisions under all labour laws including contract labour
- Maintain effective liaison with Govt. officials like state labour department, factory inspector.
- Manage external environment through effective liaisoning and meetings with external leaders, state and district level politicians, state level ministers, government officials.
- Undertake setting of Divisional Direction by finalizing BSC targets at Divisional level.
- Make need based recommendation for incurring of capital expenditure on Canteen equipments, infrastructural requirements of the office / sites belonging to the Division.
