About Our Client
Our client is a fin-tech startup in the working capital space. The Company has developed technology tools based on big data analysis which facilitates lenders to evaluate borrower's credit worthiness and provides other related services. The client is a non-deposit taking NBFC, providing SME lending in India. The Company aims to transform small business lending by making it convenient for SMEs to access credit easily. The Company uses technology and analytics tools, analyzing thousands of data points from various data sources to assess the creditworthiness of small businesses rapidly and accurately.
Job Description
We are looking for zealous individuals with strong financial sense and negotiation skills to develop the liability end of our client's business by cultivating and fostering relationships with external stakeholders. The recruit will manage the process of raising funds for marketplace operations and debt capital while engaging with a host of regulators, wealth managers and legal advisors.
As Head of Fundraising, you will be primarily responsible to provide the necessary vision, leadership, in fundraising which will enable the organization to achieve its fundraising targets and organizational development program.
The job will include:-
- Manage and lead the identification of, and approaches to Banks and NBFCs that have not previously funded our client; including identification of overseas funding sources. Funding would be as capital from lending partners on our Marketplace platform or as debt capital.
- Building on an annual calendar of key prospects.
- Build on relationships with existing investors, writing reports to meet deadlines and submitting further applications for funding
- Increase the volume of lending partners on our marketplace platform
- Work with our product teams to utilize customer feedback to drive new initiatives and build products and features valued by our customers
- Create, monitor and manage all documentation and presentation materials required for investment capital for marketplace and debt capital
- Prepare fund models for fundraising opportunities
- Understand due diligence requests from prospective investors, research and gather necessary information and prepare a comprehensive response
- Liaison with Regulators, Wealth Manager and legal partners like KPMG and PwC on a regular basis and keep the management updated on such interactions
- Produced detailed annual action plans on specific areas of responsibility outlined above, identifying areas for growth and development and outlining measurable objectives
- Contribute new ideas for fundraising and identify suitable funding initiatives, calls for proposals etc
- Successfully develops and maintains tracking tools and presentation templates
- Monitor and manage progress and obstacles across multiple projects and course-change to ensure successful completion
- Manage details and drive the capital raising process
- Develop and maintain reporting & application systems and coordinate information with management
- Objectively review the success and achievements against agreed targets, identifying strengths, weaknesses and areas for development
The Successful Applicant
- The successful candidate must have at least 8 years of fundraising and management experience with a demonstrable track record of Strategic Fundraising. Proven track record of meeting challenging income targets and proven ability to build, manage and develop key stakeholder, client and investor relationships
- Candidates with 10 years of Investment Banking or Corporate Banking experience may also apply
- Candidate must have strong leadership skills and exceptionally convincing and persuasive written and oral skills with the ability to present and convey complex ideas and issues coherently
- Candidate should be a Bachelors in any stream and CA / CFA or MBA (any stream) from top tier institutions
- Knowledge of the fundraising environment and of a range of techniques and disciplines which will support the cost effective generation of funds is a must and should be able to secure Senior Management and Board approval for the same
- The candidate should have strong relationships across Indian and Foreign Banks at senior levels to be able to drive deals
