Supply Quality Manager - Electrical - Solar

Job Description:

Role & Responsibilities:

- Interpret contractual and specification requirements and define them under quality specification requirements for Electrical Packages for manufacturing and site erection/commissioning in the form of Quality Assurance Plans/Inspection and Test plans.

- Independently handle Quality activities including witnessing pre-dispatch tests/inspections (raw material/intermediate/final) and functional checks of heavy Electrical Items/packages at manufacturers' works based on schematic, general arrangement, and logic drawings.

- Ensure that Quality is incorporated into projects and processes (prevention) rather than simply inspected.

- Regularly coordinate with suppliers, third-party inspection agencies, and cross-functional teams.

- Conduct vendor evaluations/audits and process audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.

- Maintain quality documentation and reporting.

- Utilize IT tools such as SharePoint, SAP, MS Office, and AutoCAD for quality management.

- Demonstrate sound knowledge of various engineering standards including IEC, BS, IS, IEEE, etc.

- Possess practical knowledge of electrical test equipment and setup, as well as interpretation of electrical drawings, complicated electrical schemes, and logic diagrams.

- Exhibit advanced knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems and electrical safety for systems up to 1500VDC and 230KV AC applicable for Photovoltaic and Solar Energy Power Plants/Projects.

- Have experience with wireless, RFID, fiber optic, PPC, MODBUS communications, and PLCC equipment.

- Manage quality control and/or commissioning activities on utility-scale solar facilities, including SCADA/DAS system troubleshooting.

- Possess certification as an internal auditor (e.g., ISO 9001/14001/45001), which will be an added advantage.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Bachelor/Master degree related field.

- Proven experience in quality assurance/engineering roles, preferably in electrical packages for manufacturing and site erection/commissioning.

- Strong understanding of quality management principles and methodologies.

- Excellent communication and coordination skills for liaising with suppliers, inspection agencies, and cross-functional teams.

- Proficiency in IT tools such as SharePoint, SAP, MS Office, and AutoCAD.

- Comprehensive knowledge of engineering standards including IEC, BS, IS, IEEE, etc.

- Practical experience with electrical test equipment and interpretation of electrical drawings and schemes.

- Advanced understanding of AC and DC electrical systems and safety protocols.

- Familiarity with communication technologies such as wireless, RFID, fiber optic, PPC, MODBUS, and PLCC.

- Experience in managing quality control and commissioning activities in solar energy projects.

- Certification as an internal auditor (e.g., ISO 9001/14001/45001) would be advantageous.
