ROLE Supply Chain & Operations (SC&O) Research Specialist

INNOVATION - Assists and supports the development of thought-provoking insights through market analysis and in-depth review of trends, guided by the Research lead

- Draw on both traditional and innovative data sources and research methodologies to explore the key questions in a logical, structured manner

DATA DRIVEN - Analyze, visualize and interpret data from multiple sources for client use

- Accenture is a data-driven organization! You will need to understand and audit the data needed to underpin effective industry consulting and strategy work

- Updates our proprietary in-house models and provides results to the practice when needed

- Can build dashboards and insightful visualization using BI tools like Power BI

- Basic working knowledge Python, R or SPSS for statistical research, data modelling and visualization will be preferred

REPUTATION - At ease with number crunching

- Can easily work with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau etc.)

- An expert in secondary information sources and data gathering

- May contribute to articles/blogs/thought pieces through Accenture's publication channels and other channels

- Be an advocate of the Supply Chain sector

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Assist and support the development of thought-provoking insights by identifying, developing, and driving differentiated data-driven management insights. Research will involve both quantitative and qualitative research methods and tools. Should be adept at developing case studies, experienced in primary surveys and analysis, creating novel insights secondary data, and comfortable with expert interviews and networks.

- Understand the data needed to underpin effective supply chain thought leadership, consulting, and strategy work.

- When required, develop proprietary in-house regression models and provide results to the practice.

- Be able to engage with teams on using innovative new research methodologies, such as data science, customer experience platforms etc.

- Be skilled at penning points of view and research reports that bring insights to life for a C-suite audience.

- Co-author articles/blog/thought pieces through Accenture's publication channels and other channels and required to maintain a positive and growing social media presence.

- Research issues that impact the business of Accenture and its clients (- so what?- ) with major and long-lasting impact.

- Be credible in presenting work and results.

- Have supply chain knowledge, including key topics like sourcing, manufacturing, planning, and logistics

- Be able to work on multiple engagement and geographies at any one time. Work is mostly virtual, but with global presence/reach.

SKILLS

We are looking for someone who has a comprehensive skill set:

Hard skills:

- Business knowledge of supply chain

- Strong analytical and writing skills

- Ability to synthesize research into a compelling storyline

- Ability to use quantitative and qualitative research methods and tools

- Knowledge of the operations of large international companies, including core issues of the C-suite

- Proven ability to publish high quality reports and articles (publication in high ranking journals will be an advantage)

- Ability to present research findings to senior Accenture executives

- If required, ready to conduct market and competitive intelligence research

Soft skills:

- Intellectual curiosity

- Proven ability to work with people and complex multi-country research projects

- Entrepreneurial attitude

- Strong communications skills and good interpersonal skills in one-to-one and team settings

- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize appropriately and effectively

Qualifications: A bachelor's degree, preferably in science or engineering, and a post-graduate degree/qualification in business administration, economics, or statistics.

Good to have - Any additional certifications or licenses related to supply chain or research would be a plus but not required.

Work Experience:

- 5+ years of work experience preferably in a consulting environment, third party research organization, or role in the strategy function of a supply chain organization. Intellectual curiosity and entrepreneurial attitude

- Experience with data science and visualization and design thinking as well as public speaking

- Worked with a start-up, global / large private corporation or institution, research think tank or recognized research provider or design company

- Presented to senior stakeholders

- Collaborated in a team of researchers, using research tools and methodologies, including on a virtual basis
