Structural Engineer - Airport/High Rise Building

Our client an MNC a leading international Airport design & construction management firm, looking for a Structural Engineer - Ethiopia

Requirements :

Experience : 10-15 years

Education : BE - Civil

- Hands on Experience in Handling Airport / High-rise Buildings

- Prior experience in handling International projects is a must.

- Proficient in English

Roles & Responsibilities :

The duties of the Structural Engineer will be the following :

- Providing day-to-day supervision services for building (including all technical lots) works. Assistance to the Owner for the commissioning and hand over of the works is also included.

- Review and approve working and shop drawings (related to or involving Structural Works) submitted by the Contractor.

- Review the construction methods proposed by the Contractor with particular reference to work at an operational airport, security and safety, optimum utilization of resources, phasing of construction and strict adherence to work schedule, designs and specification.

- Contribute to drafting the notices, instructions, reports, etc. addressed to the Contractor as well as all necessary reports to EAE.

- Participate to the examination of all cases of change orders, extra work requirements, substitution of materials, etc. as may arise during the progress of the works.

- Contribute to the enforcement of HSE standards by the Contractor.

- Check and verify all measurements and all quantities and cost computations (related to or involving Structural Works) submitted by the Contractor.

- Prepare a detailed list of defects (related to or involving Structural Works) at the commencement of the Defects Liability Period and guide and monitor their rectification during this Period.

- Participate to the analysis of defects that might be detected by the Client during the Defect Liability Period.

- The Structural Engineer will be a member of the Project team on site.

- He will contribute to the drafting of monthly and quarterly progress reports, and may be requested by the client to carry out any other task not necessarily described above but necessary for Client to endorse its responsibility for this project.

- The position is based in Addis Ababa in Ethiopia

- The Structural Engineer will report to the Resident Engineer based on site.
