Job Brief:

As a Principal Associate in our Venture Debt Fund, you will play a crucial role in supporting our investment and portfolio management activities. You will work closely with the investment team to evaluate potential investments, conduct due diligence, and monitor portfolio companies. This role requires strong analytical skills, financial acumen, and a deep understanding of the venture capital and startup ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

Deal Sourcing:

- Identify potential investment opportunities by monitoring the venture capital and startup landscape.

- Build and maintain relationships with venture capital firms, startups, and other industry stakeholders to source deals.

Due Diligence:

- Conduct comprehensive due diligence on prospective portfolio companies, including financial analysis, market research, and risk assessment.

- Prepare investment memos and presentations for the investment committee.

Financial Analysis:

- Evaluate the financial health and projections of startups to determine their creditworthiness.

- Create and analyse financial models to assess the potential return on investment.

Portfolio Management:

- Assist in the management of the existing portfolio of investments, monitoring their financial performance and adherence to loan covenants.

- Collaborate with portfolio companies to provide support and guidance as needed.

Risk Assessment:

- Assess and manage the risks associated with the portfolio, including market, credit, and operational risks.

- Recommend strategies to mitigate risks and enhance the fund's performance.

Reporting and Compliance:

- Prepare regular reports on the fund's performance and compliance with investment policies.

- Ensure that all investments are following regulatory requirements.

Market Research:

- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market developments, and emerging technologies.

- Provide insights and recommendations based on market research.

Requirements and skills:

- Master's degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field like CA

- 3-7 years of relevant experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, or corporate finance.

- Strong financial analysis and modelling skills.

- Knowledge of the startup and venture capital ecosystem.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

- Detail-oriented and highly organized.

- Understanding of debt and equity financing structures is a plus.
