Strategy & Review - Chairman's Office
Roles and Responsibilities :
1. Work with both President & VP - Strategy & Chairman's office to set & refine the strategic agenda for the BU
2. Given the strategic agenda, ensure rigorous governance by conducting regular check-ins, supporting the conduct of quarterly, half-yearly and annual discussions with the promoters
3. Identify topics/themes of relevance to aid the transformation of the BU; help socialize the same with inputs from Promoters and senior leadership
4. Help control capital allocations: Review proposed to spend elements from various BUs and help assess/ refine the same
5. Internally contributed to team building activities within Chairman's office and strengthen systems, processes & collaboration
6. Build relationships with key BU stakeholders in order to translate the chairman's vision & strategic agenda into a bought-in set of actions
Challenges :
- Operate and thrive in a fast-paced and high-performing environment
- Able to work on multiple streams at a given time
- Role requires a high appetite for analytics and comfort with handling complex data sets; with a keen eye for rigor checking and triangulation
- Should be able to cut through large volumes of data to identify the key issues/ challenges with a BU
- Role requires quick turnaround and, on the feet, independent thinking
- Highly self-motivated and able to operate autonomously
Skill set requirements :
1. High comfort with large data sets & ability to synthesize key discussions
2. Industry and Competitor Benchmarking skills
3. Understanding of Financial Statements and other key financial metrics such as IRR, NPV, ROCE, Working Capital and their application in different business contexts
4. Strong presentation skills
5. Excellent written and oral communication skills
6. Good relationship-building skills
