Strategy Lead - Insurance - Chennai
- Drive periodic reviews on annual business plan, long term business growth strategy, quarterly peer review, monthly/quarterly/annual financial performance of the business units under the respective sector
- Critical evaluation and review of investment proposals including Joint Ventures, Mergers & Acquisitions or other major capital expenditure proposals on behalf of the EMCB
- Expected to convert information to expert insights while reviewing performance of businesses in the sector
- Provide impact assessment of recent local and global trends on the business plan and financial performance of businesses
- Facilitate the formulation of performance measures for balance scorecards through sharp understanding of business and an outside-in perspectives
- Conduct special reviews on projects upon request from the EMCB or Head CSPD
- Undertake plant visits, market and customer research, peer analysis as required and share insights with the EMCB
- Liaise with CEOs and Finance heads of businesses and serve as a point of contact at CSPD
- In coordination with Head CSPD periodically evaluate the review mechanism to ensure its effectiveness.
- Prepare major presentations for senior management upon request
- Review and make changes to reports submitted by Business Analysts as required to ensure gaps in information are addressed
- Establish a system for gathering timely market and sector information internally and through research firms, consultants and industry experts
- Ensure the effective learning and development of all team members through guidance and knowledge sharing
- Take up other responsibilities, as nominated or delegated by the Head CSPD
- Prioritize activities/projects for the team
- Anchor Business Analysts Performance and Rewards
- Translate sector goals into SMART objectives, outcomes and timescales for team members
- Allocate resources for the achievement of sector goals
- Conduct appraisals and define personal development plans for team members
- Responsible for all staffing matters for the team, including recruitment, induction, retention, performance management and succession planning in coordination with Corporate HR
- Delegate and develop team through training & development
- Promote and advocate equality and diversity and appropriately challenge all forms of discrimination
