Role Summary:

The BU Head - CRAMS will have full P&L responsibility for Covvalent's CRAMS division, driving business strategy, expanding market presence, and managing end-to-end operations from demand generation to manufacturing. The role requires a blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development:

- Drive growth strategy in the US and Europe, focusing on key API manufacturers.

- Build long-term client relationships and secure contracts to strengthen Covvalent's market position.

Team Leadership:

- Lead a cross-functional team (sales, R&D, manufacturing) to ensure seamless execution of projects.

- Ensure business and quality goals are met across all functions.

R&D & Manufacturing Oversight:

- Guide teams in delivering scalable, high-quality solutions for intermediates, KSMs, and APIs.

- Ensure efficient production and on-time delivery.

Market & Competitive Insight:

- Stay ahead of market trends, customer needs, and regulatory changes.

- Refine service offerings and capture new opportunities in the market.

Operational Excellence:

- Design and implement strategies to optimize performance and streamline internal processes.

- Maintain high-quality standards across operations.

Leadership & Development:

- Foster a high-performance culture, providing mentoring and development opportunities.

- Ensure team success by supporting growth and skill enhancement.

Qualifications:

Experience:

- 15+ years in CRAMS, custom synthesis, or related fields, with extensive experience in business operations and client-facing roles within the pharmaceutical industry.

Industry Expertise:

- Strong background in R&D, regulatory requirements, and manufacturing processes for intermediates, KSMs, and APIs.

- Experience in bulk drugs and generic APIs is essential.

Client Relationships:

- Established network of strong relationships within the API manufacturing industry, particularly in the US and Europe.

Leadership Skills:

- Proven track record in building and managing cross-functional teams (sales, R&D, manufacturing) to achieve business goals.

Education:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceuticals, or related field.

- MBA is a plus.

Techno-Commercial Expertise:

- Strong understanding of the technical aspects of custom synthesis and the commercial dynamics of the CRAMS business.
