Stores Head

Role :

- The prime role of Stores Head is to coordinate with other sections/departments of the plant for the activities for safe and efficient work and optimum inventory levels to meet operating unit's working capital targets in inventories.

Duties & Responsibilities :

- Monitoring of all daily stores functions like maintaining inventory in ERP/SAP. Processing of purchase requisitions from users, maintaining of optimum inventory for ROL items, Insurance Spares, Fuels, Packing Bags and Raw Materials

- Receiving and issuing materials

- Collection of scrap materials & its disposal/sale.

- Monitoring and ensuring supply of quality and cost effective Raw Material including packing bags and fuel receipts in time for the production.

- Periodic review of stock position & initiate requisitions as and when required in co-ordination of Assistant Manager for maintaining the stock as per pre-defined level.

- Responsible for Codification, Standardization and variety reduction, setting levels, Categorization of items, ABC analysis etc.

- Monitoring of Local / Imported Purchase Order and follow up for deliveries.

- Continuous development/improvement of computer reports.

- Communication with various suppliers with discrepancy details for getting correct replacements or resolution of discrepancies.

- Liaise with other departments/sections relating to material replenishment planning for scheduled plant/machinery shutdown.

- Preparation of insurance claim for damages/lost in transit consignments.

- Coordinating with other sister plants to maintain unique item codes, common insurance and high cost spares to uphold optimum inventory level.

- Preparation of non-moving and obsolete items lists with value and acquisition dates for disposal.

- Conducting physical stock verification of all Raw Materials every month and submit reports to management.

- Ensuring the process of purchase requisitions and consumption of materials are as per BP.

- Maintaining Lorry Receipt, Clearances from transporters, Gate pass items like transfer, repair and rejected items.

- Ensures no ATR points with respect to audit for raw materials and stores.

- Should take care of legal compliance with respect to weights and measures, explosives license, disposal of waste oil, Batteries and electronic goods in the plant.
