The Sustainable Investing Research and Development team is tasked with building quantitative Sustainable Investing scoring models, constructing and maintaining the SSGA Sustainable Investing data architecture and infrastructure, collaborating with the various investment teams to create innovative sustainable strategies, writing industry-leading thought leadership in the ESG space, and working alongside distribution, sales, strategy and client reporting to provide clients and regulators with the required reports and analytics.
Responsibilities :
- Help drive State Street Global Advisors' Sustainable Investing data efforts, with a particular focus on climate investing and integration
- Perform data due diligence and work with external data vendors to source, onboard and manage the required data, information and analytical and reporting tools to comply with Sustainable Investing regulations and mandated frameworks
- Onboard and maintain Sustainable Investing data, create and manage views and tables on State Street Global Advisors' centralized Sustainable Investing data repository/database, and disseminate/distribute output information to investment teams and other internal users and stakeholders
- Perform analysis, work with vendors and provide detailed and robust answers to clients' questions on Sustainable Investing data behind regulatory reports
- Assist senior team members in their day-to-day research and writing white papers
- The role can expand over time to incorporate broader responsibilities in the Sustainable Investing R&D, operations, and strategy teams
Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science, Finance, or Environmental Engineering. 2+ years of experience as a data analyst or quantitative researcher
- Strong quantitative skills, Proficient in Python, SQL, databases, and data analytics
- Familiarity with fixed-income vehicles and strategies
- Experience with Factset, Axioma and other financial software preferred
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Ability to summarise complex requirements and information and distil that into digestible key points
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, ability to execute independently and also maintain strong team orientation
- Interest in environmental, social and governance issues
