Job Description : Portfolio Specialist Senior Associate

The Portfolio Strategist team is a group of investment professionals who have attained deep expertise in one or more investment capabilities at SSGA. They help to drive the commercialization efforts of the investment team and act as a facilitator between the investment organization and their clients and prospects.

This portfolio specialist position will help support our ISG growth efforts and report to the Head of Portfolio Strategy for the Investment Solutions Group (ISG). In this role, you will:

Specific Skills Include:

Portfolio Specialist Senior Associate:

- Serve as internal subject matter expert for SSGA's Investment Solutions Group (ISG) with particular focus on Europe. You will work closely with the investment team to support the growth initiatives.

- Help drive the creation of high-quality marketing collateral, content and thought leadership.

- Take leadership role in helping to complete complex RFPs and organizing workflow within the investment team.

- Conduct periodic portfolio analysis/attribution and author related portfolio and market commentary as needed.

- Have the opportunity to participate in investment strategy meetings and assist in custom portfolio design.

- Assist with workflow management and technology enhancement, make suggestions to streamline operations. Participate in projects as well as prepare and verify information for those various projects/special requests as directed

Qualifications:

- A bachelor's degree is required. Work toward or attainment of an advanced degree in business or finance and/or a CFA designation is a plus.

- 5-8 years of experience with investments and/or client engagement related activities.

- Must possess strong communication skills with ability to participate in or lead conference calls.

- This is a visible role. Excellent communication, organizational and presentation skills, and ability to present complex operational matters to management.

- Self-motivated, self-assured, and self-managed. Results oriented ownership mindset.

A Portfolio Specialist will possess the following technical knowledge:

- Excellent quantitative skills are required, in particular, the ability to analyze and evaluate numerical data and present findings, as well as attention to detail.

- Solid business knowledge as it relates to the financial services industry.

- Familiarity with financial software (e.g. FactSet, Bloomberg, Morningstar), along with developed quantitative skills.

- Proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel.

- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, conscientiousness, ability to execute independently yet also maintain strong team orientation.
