Job Description
The Private Markets Fund Team is seeking to hire an analyst with operations/finance background in Alternatives. As a key member of the team, this individual will liaise with Operations, Finance & IT teams to validate and test investment performance, coordinate investment team's ongoing review and monitoring of portfolio/client performance, and help manage administration related to ongoing processes. This is a new role and this individual will be expected to help create and build out these practices.
Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Work in coordination with Operations/Finance team to strengthen performance accounting & reporting for clients (DB, Endowment & Foundations) across geographies
- Coordinate with IT team in maintaining clients and managers records
- Liaise with risk team in consolidating information regarding concentration or performance
- Manage investment pacing and monitor portfolios for our clients including assisting with the production and presentation of materials and organizing meetings
- Monitor daily NAV valuations or operational infrastructure for potential Defined Contribution clients
- Update and help implement investment related policies, procedures and business controls
- Understand internal model risk monitoring process and help implement with investments team
- Prepare decks and present for internal assessment and annual reviews
- Prepare commentaries for clients and update private market trends
- Participate in LP annual meetings, management presentations and other diligence sessions. Construct arguments about investment decisions
- Support the execution of investments in private market funds and co-investments by performing due diligence and financial analysis
- Flexible to work in adhoc projects like ESG or market research
Position Requirements :
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in operations, portfolio performance, NAV validations and client reporting
- Graduate with degree in Finance preferred. Masters or CFA is a plus
- Good communication skills. Should be able to effectively converse with various stakeholders
- Understands Alternatives landscape. Strong interest and intellectual curiosity in the private markets
- Understands various clientele type including Defined Benefit, Defined Contribution, Endowments & Foundation businesses
- Ability to learn new systems and processes
- Ability to balance and prioritize multiple opportunities and projects
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with internal & external parties
