Job Summary:

- The Business State Head will lead and scale the Secured Lending business across multiple regions, with a focus on branch-based operations.

- This senior role involves driving growth strategies, managing risk, and ensuring operational excellence across secured and unsecured portfolios.

- The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the NBFC sector, with substantial experience in secured lending products.

Role & Responsibilities:

Business Strategy & Growth:

- Develop and drive the operational plan and growth strategy for LAP business across assigned states.

- Create and implement strategies for volume scale-up with a focus on profitability and meeting defined targets.

- Expand the business into tier 2 and tier 3 cities, scaling up the current book size.

- Identify and establish strategic alliances and partnerships to enhance business reach.

Operational Excellence:

- Set up and refine digital channels for customer acquisition and develop an end-to-end digital fulfillment model.

- Manage and optimize risk buckets within secured and unsecured portfolios, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal policies.

- Oversee the development and implementation of a comprehensive collections framework from X bucket to write-off.

- Handle products including LAP, mortgage, housing loans, SME funding, and other secured lending products.

Team Management & Development:

- Establish performance metrics and regularly review team performance to ensure alignment with business goals.

- Manage outsourced staff and agencies, including legal, technical, FI Agency, RCU, and operations.

Financial & Risk Management:

- Prepare detailed inputs for P&L, budgets, and profitability analysis at the business, branch, and employee levels.

- Conduct trend analysis, benchmark competitors, and identify best practices for continuous improvement.

- Ensure the effective management of customer lifecycle, portfolio management, and risk mitigation.

Client & Stakeholder Management:

- Manage key accounts and critical clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

- Work closely with support groups such as operations, finance, and compliance to ensure smooth business processes.

- Participate in recruitment processes to identify the right talent for various positions within the business.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

- Over 12 years of experience in branch-based NBFCs, with a focus on secured lending (Loan Against Property, Mortgage etc).

- Proven track record in scaling up the secured lending business and managing large teams across multiple regions.

- Strong leadership and team-building skills.

- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

- Deep understanding of NBFC systems, processes, and financial modeling.

- Ability to drive transformational changes and adapt to digital enablers.

- Solid customer service attitude with a strategic mindset
