Position Overview :
- The Strategic Alliances Manager for Consumer Payments in a Fintech environment is responsible for cultivating and managing high-impact partnerships that enhance the company's fintech offerings in the consumer payments sector.
- This role focuses on building alliances with key stakeholders, including banks, payment networks, e-commerce platforms, technology providers, and regulators.
- The individual will drive strategic collaborations to expand the company's presence in the Indian fintech ecosystem, unlock new growth opportunities, and foster innovation in digital payments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Partnership Development-: Identify, assess, and establish partnerships with banks, financial institutions, card networks (Visa, MasterCard, Rupay), mobile wallet providers, and fintech startups to enhance the company's consumer payment solutions.
- Industry Collaboration-: Forge alliances with key players across industries, including retail, e-commerce, and financial technology, to drive the adoption and expansion of the company's payments ecosystem.
- Innovation in Payment Solutions-: Work closely with product and technology teams to collaborate with partners on launching new and innovative payment solutions, such as Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL), UPI-linked offerings, and mobile-based payment products.
- Regulatory Engagement-: Liaise with regulatory authorities such as the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), NPCI, and other financial bodies to ensure all partnerships align with current laws and regulations governing the fintech and payments space.
- Cross-functional Leadership-: Partner with internal teams including product, marketing, legal, compliance, and technology to ensure alignment on partnership goals, integration, and execution of key projects.
- Market Research and Trends Analysis-: Conduct in-depth market research to identify emerging trends, customer preferences, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes, using insights to refine partnership strategies and align them with business objectives.
- Negotiation and Contracts-: Lead complex negotiations and establish partnership terms with potential and existing partners, ensuring agreements are beneficial and contribute to the company's growth strategy.
- Revenue Growth-: Drive partnership-led revenue growth by launching scalable and innovative products that meet customer needs and position the company as a leader in the consumer payments space.
- Performance Tracking and Optimization-: Monitor and analyze the performance of partnerships, ensuring continuous improvement and refinement of collaboration strategies to achieve set KPIs.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in fintech, payments, banking, or strategic partnerships, with a focus on consumer payments in India.
- Demonstrated experience in forming and managing strategic alliances, preferably in the Indian fintech or consumer payments sector.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of digital payments, UPI, payment gateways, card networks, and the regulatory environment in India.
- Exceptional relationship management and negotiation skills with a proven ability to manage senior-level stakeholders.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to create and execute partnership strategies that align with long-term business goals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to interpret data and market trends to inform decision-making.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and levels of the organization.
- Project management experience with a focus on driving complex partnership initiatives from concept to execution.

- E-commerce and Retail-: Understanding of payment acceptance and integration for large-scale e-commerce platforms, offline retail, and new-age digital-first companies.
