SME- Lending
Role Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to head our new SME Lending Business. This independent vertical will provide term loans to merchants, both secured and unsecured. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of SME lending, risk management, and partnership-based lending models. They will be responsible for developing and executing the business strategy, building and leading the team, and driving growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute the business strategy for the SME Lending vertical.
- Set and achieve ambitious growth targets for the business.
- Continuously analyze market trends and adapt the strategy to maintain a competitive edge.
Team Building & Management:
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team across various functions, including sales, operations, risk management, and customer service.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the team.
Product Development & Management:
- Oversee the development and management of SME lending products, ensuring they meet the needs of merchants.
- Collaborate with the technology and data sciences teams to implement and optimize lending models and processes.
- Ensure the products are compliant with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Partnership Development:
- Identify and establish strategic partnerships with large platforms and other relevant partners to source merchant data.
- Negotiate and manage partnership agreements to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes.
Risk & Credit Management:
- Develop and implement robust risk and credit policies for the SME Lending vertical.
- Work closely with the risk management team to build and refine risk models.
- Continuously monitor portfolio performance and take proactive measures to mitigate risks.
Operational Excellence:
- Ensure efficient and effective operations, from loan origination to disbursement and collection.
- Implement processes and systems to enhance customer experience and streamline operations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in SME lending, financial services, or a related field.
- Proven track record of building and leading successful lending businesses.
- Experience with partnership-based lending models and co-lending arrangements.
Skills:
- Strong strategic and analytical skills.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of risk management and credit policies.
- Ability to drive results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
