Objective :-
To handle the litigation, ombudsman, contract management and other legal matters independently to achieve the following:
- Handling of entire litigation portfolio and maintain high litigation success ratio
- Protect legal interest of the company through contracts and agreements
- Provide timely advise on IR and personnel matters
- Protect the best interest of the company and maintaining the reputation in quasi-judicial forums like Ombudsman.
Responsibilities :-
- Handling of entire litigation portfolio and maintain high litigation success ratio
- Protect the best interest of the company and maintaining the reputation in quasi-judicial forums like Ombudsman
- Advising the internal stake holders on IR and personnel matters
- Appear before Ombudsman and other legal forums to represent the company
- Reviewing the litigations and legal notices and ensure the total litigation numbers are stable by taking timely actions
- Review of matters where company needs to initiate legal action and filing of complaints including criminal complaints
- Preparing management dashboard and submissions to the Board and other committees on litigation portfolio.
- Ensure legal due diligence and proper documentation with respect to branch offices
- Review of legal agreements
- Timely renewal of contracts and ensure that interest of the company is best protected
- Provide legal opinion to claims, underwriting department on repudiation and null and void cases
- Advisory services and information dissemination to internal stakeholders based on learnings from the litigation.
- Drafting and Vetting of insurance policy contracts
- Management & Board reporting
- Support in regulatory compliance matters as and when required
