Manager - Payroll || Stanza Living
Stanza Living is a Series-D funded organization providing fully managed co-living and student housing spaces. We are India's fastest moving technology startup in the co-living spaces. Founded by alumni of IIM Ahmedabad, Anindya Dutta and Sandeep Dalmia, we are currently present in 25+ cities and expanding to more geographies. We are at a team size of 2700+, with an inventory count of 75k + beds.
- This position is responsible for managing & administration of the company Payroll shared services and ensuring compliance and accuracy in monthly Payroll activities
- Overall responsibility for payroll processing and administration
- Manage certain time bound processes and ensure validation of data to be accurate and truthful i.e. Investments declaration, Form 16s, Tax Returns
- Ensuring timelines are met for salary disbursement and statutory compliance
- Ensuring Employee Benefits including Employee reimbursements as per rules and regulations of income tax
- Verification & Reconciliation of monthly payroll
- Calculation and deposit of monthly liability of TDS on salaries
- Preparation & Submission of Quarterly and Annual TDS returns
- Ensure that compensation practices are compliant with current laws and regulations
- Renew our compensation plans with monetary and non-monetary benefits by assessing employees needs by conducting organizational surveys
- Develop, maintain, and administer various HR compensation systems, reports and analytics.
- Preparing salary budgets by creating data models for formulating merit, promotion and correction ranges recommendations, ensuring pay for performance.
- Drive performance appraisal for timely completion and conduct calibration sessions
- Published Monthly HR Dashboards to Senior Leadership Team.
- Improve systems, HR data and information flow, management reporting, processes, and policies in support of organizational objectives.
- Leading automation of current processes and other improvements.
What we are looking for :
- Good understanding of payroll process, internal audit, taxation, and compliances.
- Familiarity with current employment rules and regulations
- Hands on experience with HR software (HRIS), MS Office suite
- Hands on experience with quantitative and qualitative research
- PG in Human Resources, business administration or similar relevant field from Tier-1 college
- Proven working experience as Payroll Executive
- People oriented and results driven
- Knowledge of HR systems and databases
- Excellent active listening
- Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
