About the Company: The Company is an Analytics HUB, a 100% Standard Chartered Group owned company specifically catering to the growing Risk modelling and analytical needs of the Group.  Business Title: Senior Manager - Methodology and Training  Grade: Band 5  Business Unit: Risk  Reports Directly to: Head  Location: Bangalore, India  Travel: 40%  - This position is for a Senior Manager with advanced degree/s in quantitative discipline applied in the area of risk scorecard / model development for retail banking / small business lending businesses or related.   - The individual will use these skills to critically evaluate model implementations across SC Group, including evaluation of underlying model construction, assumptions and data constraints, and provide assessments of the quality of the overall methodologies that are currently in use or under consideration for adoption.   - Advanced degree (Ph.D. or Master’s) in mathematics or a mathematically related field such as mathematical finance, financial engineering, statistics or economics  - Significant experience in similar roles; at least 12 year of total experience in a Retail & Commercial Banking analytical function  - Tasked with carrying out research to enhance SCB’s methodologies and with providing solutions when faced with modelling challenges  - Independent reviewer of the OAH deliverables; develop peer perspective on Group’s overall risk methodologies and individual risk modeling efforts; rebuilding models from scratch, testing, replicating and challenging their performance  - Responsible for conducting subject matter training for the HUB  - Experience in model development and/or model validation  - Ability to explain complex matters in simple and intuitive terms, supporting a strong stakeholders’ management both internally with senior management as well as externally with regulators.  Business:  - To improve the risk/reward profile with the help of risk scorecards  - Improved lift from implementation of sharper risk analytical tools   - Model developments paced with changes in business, products or processes  - Ensure model usage is optimised and, meets terms of reference  Strategy:  - Achieve higher standards for development, analyses and documentation, with the goal of becoming an industry leading risk analytics function.   - Joined-up development process for business purpose scorecards by ensuring model demand and delivery is executed and managed across stakeholders.  - Ensure full compliance to prevailing regulatory/SC Group policies / requirements / standards not only in modelling but also in implementing/maintaining models in production  - Market Knowledge: Substantial quantitative and portfolio management experience, providing a strong basis to challenge teams of specialists.  - Regulatory Framework and Requirements: Awareness and through understanding of the regulatory framework in which the firm operates.  Competencies:   - Should be open to getting involved in on-the-ground and data activities  - Analytical / Strategic / Conceptual thinking  - Attention to detail  - Problem solving  - Verbal/Written communication  - Presentation skills  - Highly motivated, organized and methodical
