Stakeboat Capital is a private equity firm focused on buyouts and control / co-control investment opportunities, across small and medium enterprises (SMEs). We focus on the companies from the sectors such as healthcare, life sciences and pharma, specialized manufacturing and B2B technology/ business/ services.
Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA)
Experience: Audit and/ or Financial Due Diligence professionals from Big 6 accounting firms (PwC, EY, Deloitte, KPMG, Grant Thornton and BDO).
Responsibilities:
A. Accounts Management
- Supervising and overseeing the book-keeping and tax aspects of all the entities of the Fund (Fund Management; and Fund Manager's entity and Fund's Investment banking entity) through external and internal teams
- Actively monitor Fund's financial performance and actions
- Coordination with Fund's valuation advisors in securing the periodic valuation reports of portfolio companies
- Tracking of Fund's investments including resultant exit MoIC, IRRs, etc.
B. Investor Relations
- Building a strong rapport with the investors
- Prepare investor capital calls, distributions, financial reports and capital statements
- Verification of all the capital contributions and distributions
- Finalization of the Fund's NAV
- Fund's quarterly and annual financial reporting to the investors and addressing their queries
- Provide all data and reports to both existing and potential Investors on a constant basis
- Co-ordination with both internal and external statutory authorities like SEBI, RBI, Bankers, Trustees, Auditors, Valuation firms, etc.
C. Portfolio Finance
- Review the financial performance of the portfolio companies.
- Build a strong rapport with portfolio companies and their leadership.
- Review annual financial budgets; monitor periodic financial performance of the portfolio companies (MIS and Quarterly decks), analysing variations in the performances and discussing the reasons with the senior management.
- Work with the portfolio companies towards identifying growth opportunities as well as possible cost rationalization initiatives.
- Strengthens operational efficiencies including Working Capital.
- Regularly interactions with Statutory auditor and Internal auditor of portfolio companies including defining / recommending scope of audit engagements.
- Regularly monitoring of internal controls procedures and recommend corrective actions, as required.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, state and local regulatory laws and rules from a financial and regulatory perspective.
- Ensure compliance with investment strategy, covenants, environmental and social safeguard requirements, and recommend corrective actions.
A good candidate will gain exposure to work with the investment team on the following workstreams:
- Building/ updating financial models and associated valuation analysis.
- Conduct industry and market research and benchmark the performance with the industry/ peers.
- Defining an efficient process to evaluate the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), growth and other relevant operating metrics.
- Recommendations to facilitate investment/ divestment decisions.

Sectors: Sector agnostic candidate however the focus of Fund will largely be on the following sectors (i) Manufacturing, (ii) B2B Technology, (iii) Healthcare, Pharma and Life Sciences
