Learning and Development Manager


We are seeking an experienced training manager to lead our learning and development strategy, manage its implementation and measure its impact. A successful candidate will be passionate about learning and excited about the prospect of leading by example.

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Reviews existing training programs; suggests enhancements and modifications to improve engagement, learning, and retention and/or to meet the changing needs of the organization, or the industry.

- Conceptualize innovative and flexible methods to address the developmental and capacity building need through identification of external training programs and conferences, the design and delivery of in-house training sessions, enrolment in online learning programs, mentoring, self-learning, and other methods as appropriate.

- Ensures that training materials and programs are current, accurate, and effective.

- Maintains knowledge of new methods and techniques for training, and training requirements applicable to the organization and/or industry.

- Identifies problems and opportunities such as operational changes or industry developments that training could improve.

- Conducts or facilitates required and recommended training sessions.

- Ensures that training milestones and goals are met while adhering to approved training budget.

- Ensuring strategic alignment of the training department with business goals.

- Evaluating individual and organizational performance to ensure training is meeting business needs and improving performance.

- Identifying training needs by consulting with stakeholders and using needs assessments.

- Developing and delivering training solutions that meet business needs.

- Monitoring and evaluation of both structured and informal methods used; making continuous improvements in the approach, process and methods as appropriate.

- Optimizing training processes for efficiency.

- Selecting and managing resources, including working with both internal employees and training vendors to develop and deliver training.

- Managing the technologies and technical personnel required to develop, manage and deliver training.

- Refining existing systems and processes, and setting up new processes as required, including: preparing and tracking the annual L&D Budget.

- Should be involved in preparing standardized manuals of operations in coordination with various departments. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's/PG degree in education, communication, human resources or a related discipline. MBA with specialization in HR preferred.

2. Must have at least 6 to 8 years of relevant experience and a good understanding of L&D systems and processes, instructional design, content development, training delivery, and evaluation of training effectiveness.

3. Exposure to working in an organization involved in education or training would be an advantage.

4. Should have worked preferably in the hospital environment.

5. Should be savvy with various e-learning opportunities that exist and help develop training programs personally too.

6. Should have good verbal and written skills.

7. People's person with a high Quotient of interactive and amicable skills.

8. Knowledge of learning and development best practices.

9. A proven track record of training program development and management.

10. Excellent leadership skills.

Required Skills/Abilities:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Thorough understanding of training processes.

- Ability to moderate large groups.

- Extremely organized and detail-oriented.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

- Professional certification is preferred.
