Job Description
The Company's Consumables team is looking for an experienced, results-driven Marketing Manager to drive development & adoption of new brands that will be required for the India program.
- To achieve this, the person will create & deploy marketing campaigns based on deep consumer insight.
- The incumbent will also drive invention and improvement in the overall look, feel, and navigation of the pages for the various brands, provide guidance to the development of the category's editorial content, style guidelines, and merchandising calendar, create marketing programs to acquire new customers, and develop innovations in customer experience, thereby helping to increase customer adoption, customer retention, awareness and discovery of our products.
- The successful candidate for this high impact role will be a self-starter with a passion for developing a deep understanding of consumers.
- The person is expected to demonstrate creative problem-solving, have proven data analysis skills, demonstrate great voice and content creation chops (i.e. strong writing skills), show strong ownership and commitment, have proven leadership experience in managing projects, and bring relevant insights in marketing and merchandising across different categories.
The Marketing manager's primary responsibilities will include:
- Drive creation of a new brand that may be required for the India program.
- Be a custodian of the brand across all initiatives for the team. Develop new ideas that add value for the consumer together while rigorously maintaining the brand identity in all brand activities.
- Own the creation & maintenance of the desired brand imagery by communication of the brand, its unique values and benefits to the consumer and steadfast guardianship of the brand identity and brand values across all initiatives.
- Interpret consumer research to anticipate and define the motivating factors driving consumers brand choice and usage behavior.
- Conceptualize, design and execute online marketing initiatives to extend awareness of our products on and off The Company.
- Develop, test, and execute aggressive multi-channel marketing plans to drive customer acquisition and authority, this would include varied methods such as audio, video, forums, blogs to extend awareness of our products on and off of The Company.
- Actively stay on top of new products, brands, trends happening globally to benchmark with global marketing developments with an open mind and propose strategies for optimizing them for the business from a marketing and merchandising standpoint.
- Develop and execute The Company-wide and cross-category marketing strategies to help introduce customers to this industry-changing initiative; identify and maximize cross-interaction where businesses overlap (e.g., Computer accessories, Home & Kitchen, Grocery, Baby, HPC, Prime)
- Establish and create a world-class destination for The Company across categories, including homepage(s), browse structures, search indexes, promotional and merchandising strategies; think big on ways to leverage customer ratings, FAQs, The Company Asks and Answers, Social Media, etc.
- Test and measure different approaches to messaging, presentation, and identify those which drive the greatest increase in customer acquisition, engagement, retention, and growth for our products.
- Partner with other teams in The Company like The Company Elements & The Company Basics to transfer best practices on marketing & merchandising.
- Propose, plan and execute new features, stores, and products with minimal oversight, by partnering with business and technical teams to achieve project goals.
- Conducting in-depth analyses to determine program effectiveness, challenge the existing tool set, identify opportunities for enhanced efficiency and functionality and work with technical teams to see these through.
- Help define and develop tools for scale and automation.
- Present to senior management externally and internally

Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of relevant work experience in online content management or marketing
- Experience using web metrics to gauge trends and evaluate content
- Experience with Excel and other data analysis tools (SQL).
- Experience using marketing metrics to drive business decisions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Email marketing experience
- High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
- Aptitude for being highly organized and for delivering results in a fast-paced environment
- Experience leading cross-functional projects across categories or other departments
- Ability to define and successfully deliver complex projects with superior ROI- from business case development through deployment
