Sr Manager - Vendor Management

1 .To locate new vendors

2. To assess the vendor

3. To finalize on including a vendor in approved vendor list

4. To study the drawing/specifications from project department for new development

5. To select a vendor from approved vendor list or develop new vendor for developing new item

6. To discuss on the development plan/schedule for new item development

7. Monitor the progress of development

8. Once development is complete handover the details to respective plant

9. Help plant to source the new material for first few lots

10. Develop alternate source for existing items for cost benefit/ease of procurement/quality problems

11. Track the performance of all the vendors

12. Select vendor for upgradation & track/monitor upgradation process

13. To look after the import documentation & coordinate with cha for clearing the goods from customs

14 .To assist the project department in estimating the cost for the rfq of the customers

15. To make the cost break ups of new items & to finalise the price of the new items developed

16. To study and find out the areas where cost reduction efforts can be taken

17. To negotiate with the vendors for reduction in cost

18. To develop alternate source for better pricing/terms

19. To use value engineering techniques to reduce the purchase cost.

20. To do the cost break ups of the existing items

21. To study & finalise the rate revision proposals of vendors

22. To keep a watch on market pricing & new developments
