ROLE – SENIOR MANAGER TAX FOR F&A SHARED SERVICES CENTRE

Industry : Telecommunication Global MNC

Location: Ahmedabad.

Exp: 7-10 years of relevant experience, 3 – 4 years experience in supervisory role in a back office set-up
Certified Chartered Accountant /Post Graduate degree in Commerce

CTC : Best in industry

The SSC will consolidate transaction processing for Finance, Supply Chain Management and Human Resources across operations in India with a vision for Operational excellence.

The Tax team at the SSC would support all tax processes (Indirect and Direct Tax) throughout India. These processes span across SAP workflows and non-workflow processes and would involve interactions with the finance teams.

Key Skills:

- Certified Chartered Accountant /Post Graduate degree in Commerce

- Knowledge of SOX, and IFRS

- Experience in a SSC/ BPO/ KPO

- Expert knowledge of direct & indirect tax laws

- Good understanding of Transfer Pricing, reconciliation process

- Banking processes , Swift Codes and internet banking transactions

- Good Knowledge of Local GAAP

- Good Knowledge of SAP – ERP system

The Tax Sr. Manager would be responsible for

- Operational Delivery

- Customer Management and Communication

- Leadership and People Management

- Delivery of (SLA / KPI) & Process Improvements

- SOX compliance & Controls

- Cross Functional Activities

The Tax Sr. Manager will be required to manage and lead teams delivering all tax processes from the SSC. The role would have responsibility for customer satisfaction, productivity, quality and employee engagement and would be measured on the overall effectiveness of the tax process. The Job holder would need to ensure adherence to Internal Controls and SOX Compliance norms relating to the Tax process.

ESSENCE OF ROLE- Key Responsibilities

Operational Delivery (25%)

- Approve & sign-off return submission and re-submission

- Manage preparation of direct and indirect tax documentation

- Provide response to group audit queries

- Analyse adjustments, changes and tax provisions

- Review transactions and margins for transfer pricing documentation

- Review taxation publications, decisions & rulings, new and proposed legislation and tax reform measures and assesses application and implications

Customer Management & Communication (15%)

- Accountable for effective communication of migration issues across the SSC and working groups

- Manage external customers like Vendors & Suppliers and provide issue resolutions when required

- Manage internal customers (circles, regions and corporate). Provide periodic updates and contribute to periodic Communications like News letters

Leadership & People Management (25%)

- Actively participate in leadership team and develop skills of own team

- Provide regular, constructive feedback to maximize positive impact of individual team member’s talent

- Ensure that there are no blockages to the provision of the future capability requirements

- Educate and increase the SSC team awareness of the Group governance and control procedures and processes, ensuring total adherence

- Utilise VEL and global performance development tools and processes to drive high performance delivery of the team

- Provide clear definition of roles, responsibilities, individual goals and performance objectives for the team. Set and measure KPIs for the team

- Ensure that there is sufficient breadth and depth of talent calibre/ potential across the organisation to provide sufficient bench strength for key roles, and to sustain and build organisational capability over time

- Promote a ‘customer centric’ and ‘partnership approach’ to develop strong relationships with other working groups

Delivery of (SLA / KPI) & Process Improvements (10%)

- Drive quality improvement processes within the tax teams such as six sigma

- Lead Certification initiatives like COPC and CMMI

- Ensure seamless migration of process from retained organisation into the SSC and continue services provided with highest standards

- Ensure customer satisfaction is at the highest level and as per service delivery measures

- Manage process standardisation and transformation initiatives

- Develop Knowledge Management frameworks and ensure knowledge is retained in the team

SOX Compliance & Controls (10%)

- Provide responses to group audit queries

Cross Functional Activities (15%)

- Work closely with HR in Staffing, people initiatives and attrition management

- Project Management team in ensuring seamless migration from the retained organization

- Quality team to ensure Process Improvement Initiatives

- IT on automation / digitization initiatives for the process
