Title - Service Delivery Leader – Inter Company Accounting and Staff function accounting
 
SSGL: 4/4A
 
Reporting to: Service Centre Manager

Primary Responsibilities:

- Supervises and coordinates activities of personnel involved in Inter-company Accounting and reconciliations and Staff function accounting operations in the Service Center by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate team leaders or supervisors.
 
- Total span of control for this position should be at least 50 to 60 people with 3 to 4 direct reports.
 
- The position is responsible for the oversight and review of all global inter-company activities as well as staff function accounting for the US region. In this regard, the person is accountable for the performance of the team against the agreed performance metrics on a monthly basis.
 
- The candidate will interact with legal entity controllers, business / functional analysts, regional process owners and other support networks.
 
- Prepares work schedules and assigns duties to operations personnel to ensure efficient and effective operations. Reviews accounts, records, reports and metrics to ensure compliance of teams with the established standard procedures and practices.
 
- Directs employee training to improve efficiency and ensure conformance with standard procedures and practices. Develops and conducts management and leadership training activities designed to enhance leadership and teamwork abilities.
 
- Administers and communicates policies and procedures.
 
- Conducts staff meetings of operations personnel, or confers with subordinate personnel to discuss operational problems or explain procedural changes or practices.
 
- Actively participates in management team meetings and implements resulting procedures, practices, programs and activities.
 
Detailed Responsibilities:
 
Business & Team work

- Working with the teams and customers to ensure 100% adherence to KPIs and SLAs;

- Provide critical oversight to the work being performed by the teams and ensure Comapny accounting policies are being adhered to;

- Require timely intervention into account problems and issues so proper resolution can be obtained to ensure financial statement misstatements are avoided;

- Conducts staff meetings of operations personnel, or confers with subordinate personnel to discuss operational problems or explain procedural changes or practices;

- Actively participates in management team meetings and implements resulting procedures, practices, programs and activities;

- Ultimate accountability for timeliness, correctness, and completeness of work assigned to the various teams;

- Review and update on status of relevant SOX KCA’s from time to time;

- Compiles required routine and special reports on the operating activity of the process team.
 
Customers / Stakeholders

- Ensure support is provided as per requirement from onshore counterparts;

- Drive regular dashboard calls and review meetings and drive issue resolution as required;

- Respond to queries from senior group level management as appropriate;

- Analyzes data and translates into meaningful information.
 
Leadership & Teamwork

- Directly lead and manage the teams to ensure SLA’s adhered or exceeded in line with onshore requirements;

- Drive performance metrics in line with requirements;

- Ensure all team members are developed by undertaking a training needs analysis for each team member;

- Perform personnel administrative duties for all the team members;

- Provide leadership and direction to the team.
 
Operational Effectiveness & Control

- Ensure proactive controls in place to highlight issues before they are picked up by business;

- Adheres to Internal control policies and procedures, including established SOX compliance processes.
 
Qualification and Experience:
 
- CA or ICWA with 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in Accounting with at least 4 years of supervisory experience;

- Strong technical understanding of accounting principles and demonstrated competence in their application;

- Exposure & experience to Intercompany accounting , month end and year end closing and / or Business Reporting;

- Good working knowledge and experience in SOX and Internal Controls.
 
Other Skills and Abilities:
 
- Proven team leadership skills; ability to effectively influence and motivate others, and an ability to work effectively with all levels, and a demonstrated ability as a change agent;

- Excellent Verbal and written communication skills and fluency in English are a must;

- Exceptional interpersonal skills, and ability to develop effective working relationships with business partners/customers;

- Ability to organize and manage workflow, establish priorities, and follow up on unresolved matters.
