Job Description – Senior Consultant/Consultant

Job Duties (include but not limited to):

- Ensures a solid understanding of business objectives associated with technical tasks to which they are assigned.

- Actively participates in internal knowledge sharing forums.

- Delivers billable consulting services to achieve account objectives and production success.

- Efforts may be directed toward various MicroStrategy/BI/DW and / or supporting products and services.

- Develops an awareness of the competitive landscape.

- Leverages and extends best practices for service delivery.

- May assume selected engagement management responsibilities, with supervision.

- Creates technical and / or functional designs to support the customer requirement and business objective. Scope may include stand alone applications or more complex interdependent systems.

- Leads and / or participates in implementation activities.

- Provides technical oversight for all team members including customers and partners.

- Provides support to the services management team, helping to scope and estimate the engagement.

- Communicates effectively with team members both internally and with customers / partners, including at the executive level.

- Mentors junior team members. May be called upon to deliver classroom training for internal audiences.

- Applies methodology effectively in a wide variety of situations, and adapts methodology to new situations.

- Works within a sphere of influence typically bounded by project or regional activities. Facilitates the team taking ideas from concept through full deployment.

Job Requirements:

- Bachelors or equivalent degree in a business, technical or related field is required.

- Typically requires 6+ years of industry, technology and services experience.

- Commitment to personal and professional growth.

- Understanding of core Business Intelligence (BI)/data warehousing technology: RDBMS such as SQL Server, Oracle, DB2 and Teradata, Web, Client/ Server, and OLAP

- Business Intelligence development experience and programming experience (SQL, Visual Basic, C, C++); Web/Internet experience (JAVA, HTML, ASP, XML, XSL, JavaScript)

- Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and business requirements

- Application knowledge of the following industries: Consumer Packaged Goods, Pharmaceutical, Retail, Telecommunications, Banking & Financial Services, Insurance, Healthcare and ERP

- Proven analytical and problem solving skills

- Experience with implementation methodologies

Strong communication skills, both written and oral; Ability to build and deliver presentations to all levels of the business and effectively explain complex issues and concepts in simple, understandable language
