Sr Architect - Computing & Storage

Roles and Responsibilities:

As a Solution Architect you will work closely with our customers to understand the business requirements and participate in the full life-cycle of engagements to develop innovative solutions. Responsibilities include a wide range of architectural activities from requirements analysis through systems, application and/or process design specification. The Architect understands client needs, works in levels of abstraction, applies industry knowledge, and leverages appropriate business elements and information technology to address those needs. This includes working with client personnel and executives to identify functional and non functional requirements and subsequently working with and leading others in the evaluation of options and the identification, justification and design of the client's solution. The Architect is responsible for the overall solution related to quality, performance, availability, scalability and integrity, ensuring solution usability.

Will be responsible RFQ deduction & infer the technical requirements , obtaining vendor quotes ,vendor and product evaluation, Participation in design discussions, delivering documents like HLD,LLD, Project Plan and ATP as per project needs. Will be required to learn & adapt to newer technologies & concepts on project to project basis.

This position will require good analytical skills along with customer interaction.

Key tasks for this position include:

- Provide solutions as part of the consulting process includes responding to formal or informal Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs) from existing and prospective clients.

- This role primarily involves customer interaction and ability to drive transformation solution, workshops and presentations

- Lead solution design in the areas of DC Transformation & Migration involving Storage systems – SAN & NAS, Servers Infrastructure, Blade enclosures, Virtualization, Consolidation, HA, DR, ILM, Backup, Archival and Cloud.

- Consultant with strong skill sets and experience in designing and implementing IBM AIX & HP Intel platforms, EMC Storage & back-up Solutions

- Strong experience with VMware design, implementation, administration and management.

- Strong experience with implementing/supporting/troubleshooting EMC Networker technologies.

- Strong experience with implementing/supporting/troubleshooting Microsoft technologies.

- Strong experience and understanding of servers, tape library, switches, routers and firewalls.

- Previous experience in Architecting Computing & Storage infrastructure for large organizations.

- Track market and competition and coming out with innovative ideas to be most relevant in the market place.

- Strong pre-sales orientation; should have breadth of technology understanding with Delivery background.

- Candidate must have worked on consulting projects involving large setup consisting of SAN/NAS/Compute Virtualization/Consolidation/HA/DR and Cloud solutions.

- Expertise in infrastructure sizing, design and solution architecture and preparation of BOQ

- Strong Pre-Sales or Sales exposure with Compute, Storage, Virtualization and cloud platform products this includes making proposals responding to RFP/RFI, doing Due-Diligence and making technical presentations.

- Design, architecture, sizing, product configuration and consulting experience for DC Platforms – Servers, Virtualization

- Extensive knowledge of high availability solutions

- Good knowledge of DR Replication Solutions.

- Experience in DC Infrastructure Migration and Transformation.

- Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills.

- Excellent customer handling skills.

- Strong team player and ability to work in cross-functional teams.

- Min 15-18 years Experience in designing and successful implementation of Computing, Server and Storage products and application

- Successful development & implementation of Accept Test Procedure

- Provide solid customer service skills, including representing Wipro in customer meetings, presentations, and reviews sessions.

- Manage team of engineers at site with site adaptation and act as customer interface for installation team

Soft Skills Required:

Analytical skills , problem solving ability , good communication & documentation skills . Should be a self starter and possess ability to take lead and take ownership

Qualifications:

BE with Experience: 15 years + Technical / Design experience. Presales / system configuration experience can also be considered.

Certifications : Certifications from International Vendors / Product training will be advantageous

Competencies: Adapting new technology and developing custom solutions in the this domain

Knowledge Behavioral Skills : Exposure to Multi cultural team / Middle East assignment is preferred.
