The Strategy & Portfolio Management role is an integral part of the Business Strategy organisation and is the anchor for Portfolio Management skills, knowledge and analysis required to add to, maintain and grow the business pipeline. The incumbent will work as a strategic lead, helping internal development and collaboration program selection through cross functional business process to make the best decisions. This position will also operate as a liaison on a variety of strategic business initiatives, business review and governance mechanisms, on-going internal deliverables, and special projects working with the Head of Strategy & Functional leadership team. The incumbent will be expected to monitor and drive several elements on execution ensuring the critical activities, communications and initiatives are fully aligned, progressing as per business goals.
Key Responsibilities and Duties :
Lead - Product Portfolio Management
- Enable the review of internal program delivery and new product ideation, and evaluation to ensure pipeline progress and growth
- Handle data sourcing, compilation and analysis process leading to findings communication through streamlined process
- Support portfolio review meetings for pipeline discussions based on findings for strategic business decisions
- Ensure alignment of cross-functional teams for a consolidated portfolio view to enable prioritization, project planning and business planning processes
- Provide high-quality presentations and documentation for Management and Leadership meetings
- Prepare and update regular reports on progress of portfolio and implications
Business Support - Strategic initiatives
- Strategic and operational support for a variety of strategic initiatives, on-going internal deliverables, and special projects with cross-functional team alignment
- Support business review meetings with material compilation and track commitments made by functional domain heads by executing follow-up activities as appropriate
- On request creation of appropriate briefing materials, including the development of presentations, and coordinating events (internal or external engagements), as needed
- Support business development initiatives as needed on internal activities
- Provide support for special projects in Business Strategy as pertains to business growth
Operating Network :
Interface across various functions of the company to support execution of portfolio and strategic business initiatives working with domain leaders in R&D, Clinical Development & Medical, Regulatory, Commercial, Business, Human Capital & Finance.
Educational & Experience :
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences/ Medical/ Pharma with MBA and previous working experience with about 5 years in Portfolio /Business Strategy role in medical/pharmaceutical/life sciences or scientific industries
- Demonstrated a well-developed strategic and analytical approach with integrating and synthesis capability for findings/insights from multiple sources to enable informed strategic decision-making
- Strong working knowledge of drug development process, and pharma/biotech business
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office with Quant/Excel & PowerPoint skills (strong plus)
- Strong strategic, collaboration, communication, and presentation skills
