Specialist - Local Statutory Reporting

- Work in a team of highly qualified finance professionals and play a key role in the following areas in Local Statutory Reporting

- Ensuring timely preparation and filing of statutory accounts.

- Working with external audit firms including senior managers, directors & partners pertaining to multiple countries and offices.

- Manage co-ordination/support for the audit

- Working closely with other teams like tax, legal and various controllers team.

- Ensuring compliance with RASCI and operational effectiveness of Standard LSR Controls.

- The person has to ensure resources are effectively deployed and utilized.

- Should be focused and result oriented dimensions and should have knowledge on Multiple ERPs viz. Blueprint, SERP, GSAP etc.

- Strive to achieve and maintain top quartile process metrics, drive continuous improvement.

- Ensure timely preparation of annual Financial Statements in accordance with (Dutch GAAP, UK GAAP, MY GAAP, Indian GAAP) and statutory reporting framework.

- Work closely with other teams like tax, legal and various controllers team.

- Coordinating the statutory audit, which would involve preparing/requesting input

- Required for audits, validating inputs received and sharing with auditors,co-ordinating for replies to queries raised by auditors.

- Ensuring compliance with RASCI and Standard LSR Controls are operated effectively

- Leads/participates and manages migrations of a wide range of additional new scope of Local statutory reporting activities and ensures optimization of activity execution and resources.

- Champion the acquisition of Business Knowledge within the unit and helps to embed this into the workforce.

- Keeps abreast of key business developments and Business performance drivers.

Business covered : Exploration & Production, Holding and Treasury,and P&T

Countries covered : Legal entities within the Shell group pertaining to AP & ME, Americas, UK, Europe & Africa

Controls Standard LSR controls

- Inter centre migrations for process concentration

IT tools : Multiple ERPs - Blueprint, SERP, GSAP, Others - Virtual Treasury tools (Quantum)

Position description/Special Challenges :

- Finance Operations is one of the key enablers for delivering world-class process performance, and represents a milestone on our Finance Functional Plan journey.

- The role is technically demanding and requires strong knowledge of counting standards.

- Managing peak period while ensuring seamless and timely delivery of financial statements and filing of annual statutory reports. Managing interfaces with external statutory auditors during peak auditing periods are challenging

Requirements :

- Qualified accountant with relevant post qualification experience of 6 years or more

- Excellent working knowledge of (Dutch GAAP, UK GAAP, MY GAAP, Indian GAAP) would be most useful, as well as strong financial reporting experience.

- Expertise in managing multiple stakeholders

- Prior experience in handling statutory audits preferable

- Interfacing with senior finance staff at country and region level

- Should be self-motivated, self-starting who is able to build and lead / work in a team and manage/integrate with others in different functions and in a multicultural and diverse business environment.

- Demonstrated Enterprise First mindset with relating values and behaviors.

- Individual should be proactive and a creative thinker, looking beyond the scope of requests being made.

- Highly developed analytical skills with perceptive and clear think strategic abilities.
