IT Infrastructure Specialist - Contractual Opportunity - Mumbai

Our client, a top-tier consulting firm, is working on a large digital transformation project with a major Indian public sector bank. They started the engagement last quarter and are now focused on project execution. They are seeking an IT infrastructure specialist to design cost-effective infrastructure products and services that include servers, storage, workstations, middleware, networks, and other hardware facilities that support applications and business processes.

The following are responsibilities that the chosen consultant will manage:

- Develop and maintain or improve the enterprise infrastructure

- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve infrastructure processes

- Develop, document, and recommend plans for investing in IT infrastructure, including cost optimisation analysis

- Define infrastructure building blocks based on infrastructure product and service requirements

- Develop the infrastructure transformation roadmap

- Determine acceptable performance thresholds and test specifications across the organisation

- Engage with application architecture team to understand projected application requirements and translate it to infrastructure sizing and configuration requirements

- Evaluate and select appropriate software or hardware and suggest integration methods

What are we looking for?

- Extensive experience working with IT infrastructure libraries, datacenter technologies, cybersecurity, and configuration management

- Expertise in working in virtualized environments, preferably VMware

- Expertise with technical design, including servers, storage, networking and cloud-based IaaS and PaaS services
