The Role:

A General Ledger (GL) Accounting Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining an organization's general ledger, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data.

Key Responsibilities:

- General Ledger Maintenance: Prepare, verify, record, and post general ledger entries, including journal entries and vouchers. This involves processing daily, monthly, and annual closing entries to ensure accurate financial records.

- Account Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile accounts with the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and comply with accounting standards and regulations. Identify and rectify discrepancies as needed.

- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and other related documents, to provide insights into the company's financial performance.

- Audit Support: Prepare audit schedules and assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations to auditors.

- Compliance Assurance: Ensure adherence to accounting principles, standards, and regulatory requirements, maintaining the integrity of financial records.

- Data Accuracy: Maintain accurate records, including ledgers, journals, receipts, and invoices, ensuring data integrity and compliance with internal accounting procedures.

Skills Required:

- Experience: A minimum of six years of recent and responsible bookkeeping experience, including preparation, recording, and booking of general ledger entries, trial balances, and working with a computerized accounting system. Must have working exposure to onshore geographies.

- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for financial analysis and reporting. Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle is beneficial.

- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze financial data, identify inconsistencies, and develop solutions to ensure data accuracy.

- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial record-keeping and reporting.

- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members, management, and external parties.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Qualification: Qualified Accountant - CA/ICWA

- Experience: Minimum 6 years of bookkeeping experience, including preparation, recording, and booking of general ledger entries, trial balances, and working with a computerized accounting system.
