Key Responsibilities:
Demand Forecasting:
- Deliver robust and transparent demand forecasts for strategic brands, therapy areas, and key markets.
- Clearly document assumptions and confidence levels to ensure the robustness of forecasts.
Presentation and Defense:
- Confidently present and defend forecast approaches, methodologies, assumptions, and outputs to senior leadership.
Data Integrity and Analysis:
- Ensure objectivity and robustness in forecasts by identifying the right data sources and applying industry-leading modeling approaches.
- Conduct sensitivity analyses around key variables to support opportunity and risk management.
Cross-functional Integration:
- Demonstrate a high level of understanding of the integration points between forecasting work and other departmental functions.
New Product Introduction:
- Develop volume forecasts for new product introductions, both short-term and long-term, to inform strategic and operational planning processes.
Continuous Improvement:
- Support continuous improvement and innovation to evolve forecasting capabilities.
- Utilize advanced methodologies (statistical, predictive, simulations/Monte Carlo) to inform forecasts and decision-making.
Information Leveraging:
- Proactively integrate relevant information into forecasts using various tools and sources.
Global Forecasting:
- Develop new forecast models as business needs arise (e.g., pipeline assets, life cycle management, business development).
US Forecasting:
- Participate in the monthly Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process and submit volumes.
- Develop and manage weekly, monthly, and yearly forecasting models and conversions.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
Experience:
- 11 to 14 years of direct pharmaceutical forecasting experience with in-depth knowledge of forecasting techniques, models, and approaches.
- Good understanding of one or more disease areas and how patients move through their respective diagnosis and treatment pathways, including treatment dynamics.
- Experience integrating insights from market research and secondary data analysis into forecast assumptions.
- Experience utilizing a range of data sources and analytics common in the pharmaceutical industry (e.g., IQVIA, claims data, epidemiological data).
- For US forecasting roles, experience with TRx/NBRx/NRx data and methodologies.
- Strong analytical expertise with excellent Excel, financial modeling, and forecasting skills.
- Project management experience, including risk mitigation and managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Ability to build trusted relationships with marketing, analytics, operations, and technology teams.
- Demonstrated experience in problem solving and continuous improvement.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (e.g., PhD, MBA, Masters) preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in advanced statistical forecasting methodologies and applied AI/ML/automation.
- Experience working with Power Apps, especially PowerBI.
- For US forecasting roles, working knowledge of US Market Access and gross-to-net methodologies
